September 14, 200421 yr Is there anyway you can load your flight plan, prior to doing the first fetch. I have AS 2004 in Pause Mode when it starts and would really like to enter all the Flight Plan (import) and have AS 2004 do the writing to FS just once for the whole route.Right now it appears like I need to do the first fetch and then a second one when I import my plan.Any ideas?Great weather program!Barry
September 14, 200421 yr Hi Barry,Load plan in FS and position plane.Clear weather.Start AS in pause mode as you are doing.Import plan in AS and process.Unpause AS.I'll bet that this still causes 2 fetches though. Please give it a try!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 14, 200421 yr Thanks Jim,I wrote Damian off-line regarding this issue. I know he hasn't responded because of his family in Florida dealing with the hurricanes.I suggested that if you start in Pause Mode and Import a Plan, it should run the plan through the weather engine set your weather with one pass. It has all the info it needs interms of departure, route, and destination. It appears that it has to fetch and update the weather of the base departure airport prior to doing anything else including selecting the New Route function. It seems like a waste to have to go through the writing to Flight Simulator twice as it does take awhile.I'll give it a shot and let you know.Take care!Barry
September 14, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Barry,It SHOULD be possible to import a new route and process before unpausing AS. Is this what is not working correctly? The New Route function is disabled until you unpause AS?I will investigate further.. thanks for the report! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
September 16, 200421 yr Hi Damian,I have confirmed that if AS 2004 is in Pause Mode, the New Route function will not process the weather through the weather engine and write out to FSUIPC.You have to do it twice. Can you correct this, it shouldn't be too hard. Just call the refresh and process via wx engine routines back in that order, prior to writing to FSUIPC.Right now it causes a delay because you have to refresh first, then run the wx engine. Thanks!Barry
