January 20, 200521 yr Does everyone experience the clouds not being thick basically when flying through them you go through them easily like a sheet? Yet visually they seem 3D. I remember in some sims in the past you would actually be in the cloud for a while like in real life. What do you think about this?
January 20, 200521 yr HiYou are correct. I find this also, even with clouds set to detailed and 100%Do you sometimes find clouds breaking apart as you get closer to them? Well I do, but once again i think it is because of the way FS draws the clouds. I hope Microsoft will really look into updating the whole weather engine and the way things work because some aspects of it is just not realistic even though it looks fantastic.Cheers
January 20, 200521 yr Author Honestly they should rework the graphic engine and i still think it will be sometime. Also its an expensive hobby, especially when you need to change a system for every flight sim because of FPS.And yes the clouds to break apart but i think thats for specific clouds but i do get that as well and it is not normal.
January 20, 200521 yr No, I don't see that. The amount of time I am in "white" is roughly proportional to the selected cloud coverage. While flying through an overcast layer there is hardly a time I see a blue sky. But I am not saying that everything is perfect with FS weather engine. Visibility for example has real problems.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
January 21, 200521 yr Hi All,Anyone experiencing this may want to lower your FPS lock number. It sounds like your graphics card/system cannot keep up. The first thing FS04 starts to take away is cloud graphics.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
