Hi guys - This isn't AS problem but I'm hoping I can get pointed in the right direction. First - the history of my system(s) all which ran trouble free with all versions of AS. Athlon xp2700 with NVidia GeForce 4 Ti4600, P4 3.4 with ATIx600Pro PCIx card. Then I switched to a Leadtek Geforce 6800 PCIx/256 card. Settings for AS and FS9 did not change. I have always run the 3d clouds, Render to Texture ON and the correct set ( i forget which) of Chris' clouds that go with that.No problems until the new vid card. Using 2Q AA and 4x Anisotropic - Problem - clouds, especially in 3D look like the old early pc 4 color display - shades of purple and grey and pink and white but flat - no volume to them. It's almost as bad in 2d mode but not quite. I've always had fujll fluffy clouds, etc.I realize this isn't an AS problem but possibly Chris can tell me which setting could cause this. The card was not cheap and I know several people who love it.Any suggestions appreciated.Thanx,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Well, I made a significant improvement when I double checked the display settings in FS9 - somehow they were reset to 16 bit. Have the volumetric clouds back but it still seems like a "little" of the blue/pink flatness is on the edges. Anything to look for to tweak it a bit more?Thanx - BTW, using the latest beta with no probs ( it worked fine b4 changing vid cards).VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

HI Vic,One things when you change video cards, remove the old driver first, and before you install a new cards, you need to clean some hidden files related to your previous old cards drivers. You can use such as a driver cleaner type etc.http://www.drivercleaner.net/Now since you have already installed, most things are working correct? You may need to check the agp aperture setting, in your BIOS according to your new cards.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpgFreeware Addons for FSW GROUP

Hi Chris - I did cleasn the old drivers but I didn't check the Bios settings. This is a PCIx card and there may be a setting that was overlooked. It's almost where I want it. Thanx for the heads up.VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
