June 10, 200520 yr Hello,Lately I noticed that every report within FS ends with "RMK SUPRESSED". I bet it has something to do with the fact I have been messing with the settings within ActiveSky. What does this mean? What implications does it have on the weather processing? My second question is regarding the "New Route" option. With older versions of AS I could load a flight plan before pressing the FS "Fly" button. But now, with version B193, I Regards, Hugo Bravo LPPT
June 10, 200520 yr Hi Hugo.1. Check your Supression Ceiling on the options page. If this number is high and you typically fly low and slow you need to adjust it. Make that value something less than your altitude you fly at. Any supressed report is not geting processed so you need to look at this!2. B193 did not change this feature. You do need to wait until AS loads for the first time. Wait until the bottom meaasge reads "Load Flight Simulator to begin weather processing..." That is your signal that AS is ready for a New Route.3. ASV will be very soon!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 10, 200520 yr Author Hi Jim,Thank you for your help. Regarding the Supression Ceiling I have it set at 4000 feet (default?) and I fly mostly airliners at 30000+ feet with the ocasional GA flight when I Regards, Hugo Bravo LPPT
June 11, 200520 yr Hi,That is a good value for your airline flights. For GA as long as you are above 4000 you should not see it. I would really need to know at what time during your flight you see the supression message. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 11, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,In AS2004.5, by default (local suppression on), all METAR messages will include RMK suppressed to inform you that the METAR data may not match depicted conditions. This handling has been changed quite a bit in ASV to be more logical... METAR messages are synched to depicted wx regardless of its status as suppressed/non-suppressed... Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
