June 10, 200520 yr In another thread Chris stated the following:ASV clouds will provide fast to normal performance, we have 3 resolution for these, 512x512, 256x256 and 64x64 with mips or without mips. Now my question is probably going to sound dumb so apologies in advance. I currently use the low-resolution package for FS Skyworld 2004. My bitmaps are around 83kb for the cumulous clouds. I am getting great FR's with these. Now is that the same as the 64x64 or the 256x256 as mentioned above? And what difference does having mips or no mips make? Thanks Eric
June 10, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi, 64x64 is 22 kb, 256x256 is 342kb, with dxt the 256x256 will came 87KB.If you needed, I will have to give you a small bat files to convert all 32 bits clouds to dxt, by only a clicking they will convert all clouds.Mips map, depend on the video cards, can improve performance or degrade if enabled or disabled.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpgFreeware Addons for FSW GROUP Kind RegardsChris Willis
