No voice with ASV flight watch on client PC via Widefs

Featured Replies

Hi,Are there any other networked (via Widefs) ASV users who have flight watch voice working? I have run out of ideas to get it to work. Everything in ASV/AE works including flight watch scrolling text but voice. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have proper shares and read/writes in place. (I think :)).Thanks in advance!Bob...

Hi Jim,I did that a couple of days ago and it worked fine. There is at least one other simmer having the same problem. I was hoping to catch a hint from someone who has it working.BTW: I really like networking ASV as I can look at the current weather en-route, destination and tinker continuously with the fetch command. No changing weather surprises for me! :) I'm not sure if there are any FPS savings, but it makes me feel better. Ha!ThanksBob.. :)

Like you, I get the text but no voice. So, Kris/Jim does this qualify as a bug (hate using that term) that will be investigated. If there is anything I can do to help, just ask.I also put FS FlightKeeper and SB3 on the second PC. They both work fine.BTW Bob, I am going to purchase WideView soon and see how that works. Both of my good PCs (I have one older PC as well) have a single ATI card with dual heads. Since I have 4 monitors, I thought I would give it a go! Would you be interested in how I make out?Murray Wheten

Hi,ASV plays the sound directly (from the ASV App, not through FS). So if this is on the wideFS PC then your wideFS PC must be hooked up for sound! On my setup, insead of using two sets of speakers, I use a standard patch cable from the wideFS PC's audio out to the FS PC's (with speakers) input. Adjust volume levels for both "record" and "playback" on the FS PC and possibly adjust the output volume on the wideFS PC to achieve desired mixing and overal volume results. Best,

Thank you Damian. All I can say in my defence is... Doh! :DI think that my age is begining to effect my thought process. Thanks again!

Damian,Thank you, that makes sense, although it would be cleaner to install the sound set on the FS PC and trigger the sound via Widefs. (sounds easy to me!:))Murray,I have looked at wideview and passed because my second PC is only a 666MZ and will not handle another installation of FS9 very well. Good luck! And I'm also using FSKeeper..... very nice program!Bob...
