July 2, 200520 yr I wanted to reproduce some interesting weather that I experienced on a recent flight out of MSY [New Orleans] around 3 PM However, I could not get closer than about 2 hours to the actual time I was interested in with the archive collection, despite specifying the time and date accurately Zule time. I thought the weather was archived hourly. Please note that this is entire weather file download I am talking about.None of the weather I had noticed was present in the archived version.Could you clarify this?ThanksGreg Greg Clark

July 3, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,The archive hour is for the actual time of the archive, not necessarily the time of the latest METAR from a particular airport. This can occasionally vary, and can be manually fine-synched by using the next appropriate archive set or if using TAF/playback mode, increasing the hour accordingly (FS or system time/time conversion value). Perhaps an absolute sequence to latest METAR time would be a useful feature for the future to transparently get around these occasional variances.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
July 3, 200520 yr Author Damian,OK, That explains it for me. I agree that unless one pays alot of attention to details of metar, the labeling of the archive can be misleading as to its timing relative to the metars contained in it.One more question, please in the main screen when it says below the time:Active weather 022150Zwhat exactly does that mean?Greg Greg Clark
