Any Pics Comparing 512x512 and 256x256 Clouds

Featured Replies

I was wondering if there are any screenshots comparing the 512x512 and the 256x256 cloud textures used by ASV.

Hi, The difference, 512x512 have more details near 15%,20%on the visual and near the clouds, but the performance is better with 256x256, specialy when there is many layers at the same time.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Thanks Chris.I've seen the figure of 15% to 20% quoted before but I'm unsure what that actually means in reality hence my request for any screenshots. I could, of course, download the larger textures but I was hoping that there were some pics somewhere.

HI Victor,Even pics, it won't show major difference, screenshots decrease visual from start and are very difficult to notice to compare. At www.hifisim.com (now down for maintainence), there is near 8 clouds set, screenshots are in 512x512, compare with yours 256x256. You have to understand all clouds in active environment only change from the color and edge of the clouds, all clouds shape like cb, cumulus and clouds formation are all from fs2004 engine, this is the same for anything available for fs2004.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
