Question about BUILD 367 -stuttering in scenery views

Featured Replies

I think I see a problem, after upgrading to the latest build, 367. After takeoff I select the outside view, looking at the ground below the aircraft. Perhaps when at an alitude of 2000 or so. What I see is very FAST stuttering in the scenery. It just does not flow smoothly like it did before loading build 367. Has anyone else noticed this?Is there a way to go back to build 360?My system is a 3.4 GHZ, using a PCI express card, so normally I do not have issues such as this. Thanks,Jim

HI Jim,Stutters appears always, sometime or only at a specific scenario, view and area? Metar density can be related, There is metar if they are much more dense then previous metar, can make more performance hit. To compare with earlier build ,you should have the exact same metar asv setting then before, same flying area, same aircraft, same fs directory included the same addons used, same fs setting etc, all these details can make difference on overall system performance. Chris, Jim,In taking a closer look, I think the stuttering is related to various METAR weather loading. I have tested several other flights, using different METAR weather, and have not seen the fast stuttering. I know clouds have always had the ability to effect performance, and I now think this is what I was seeing. I will stay with build 367. THANKS,Jim

HI Jim,Metar clouds density and layers can affect.Improved frame boost:-Resolution 1024x768-Limiting the Clouds layer to 3 in ASVE-256x56 32 bits or 512x512DXT 256x256DXT or lower resolution.Improving Overall Performance:We recommend setting the cloud draw distance and sight distance to the lowest setting in FS2004 display options, and increase them slightly a little at a time during testing to find the best balance for performance and quality on your system.Video Card Setting Suggestions:Depend on your system and set, you can start with the basic settings and increase them slowly to check your performance:-AA and AF at 2-Image quality setting to performance-Turn off Vsync FS2004 Display Setting Suggestions:-Antialasing disabled-Lock your Target Frame Rate Slider between 20 and 30.-Set Mips slider to default (4) -Try either Bilinear or Trilinear filtering for best performanceMicrosoft Knowledge Base posts for FS9:http://support.microsoft.com/search/defaul...=false&numDays= Sound Related Issues for FS2004:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...394&Product=gms Improving game performance for FS2004: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...069&Product=gms ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
