Hi,Please see the user guide, it is explained there.Creating "VAS Points" or "Thermals" creates an area of vertically moving air (either updraft or downdraft). You can name and place them anywhere you'd like by positioning your aircraft and hitting the "Create VAS Point" button. Then you can edit the thermals.txt file to adjust the parameters as desired.As mentioned by Jim, this is usually reserved for those who want to program thermals for sailplane/glider flight.But it can be used in other places as well. For example, some airports, usually those on a plateau, have very common downdrafts at the approach end of the runway. KAVX (Avalon, Catalina, California, USA) comes to mind. You can use these VAS points to simulate such! :) But also keep in mind that AUTO VAS will automatically create such up/downdrafts depending on terrain and wind conditions. The manual VAS points are simply a convenience option.Best,
