Local whiteouts in clouds

Featured Replies

Hi all,Im just wondering if this is possible in FS9. When passing through a thick cloud layer, would it be possible to reduce the visibilty in the cockpit/wingviews, by causing whiteouts and other effects?Currently when you fly through clouds they seem to dissolve rather than causing a white out.Have a look at this clip, youll need Flash 8 to view it!http://www.bootus.co.uk/cloud.swfMany thanks for your time.Armen at EGLLwww.veryquiet.com

Just to add...When flying through any cloud of certain density, would it be possible to implement the "dense fog" coding or similar whiteout effects, to achieve this effect visually?Best regards,Armen at EGLLwww.veryquiet.com

Hi Armen,Msfs use 3d sprite to simulate 3d clouds for performance, they are bunch of texture togheter, that's disappears and reappears when a clouds is near the aircraft, and the clouds always rotate face to the aircraft. To have your effect, they must use particle effect (smoke) that's enter and leave out any x,y,z things in the Msfs sky. Maybe Fs10.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
