ASV dumping weather Why???

Featured Replies

This has been an on going iratating problem since I installed the enhanced ASV update. It keep actings retared by disconnecting and connecting when approaching AP. Or sometimes the weather won't load at all. I've reinstalled several times and it will work for a while, then start acting retarded again. I'm running ASV over a network.Bill M

Hello JimNo there are no error messages. FSwide stays connected all the time. It's like it keep resetting itself. I 'm using 3.50 FSUIPC and 6.22 wide client. I can tell when it resets all my other programs over the wide connection disconnects. But It seems to only happen when the meter reports bad weather, when I on approach to an airport. It keep going back and forth from the loaded weather to clear weather. I thought it was another program that was causing it, but I shut down all but ASV. I can even connect to the internet when this happens. but nothing really changed on my system other than ASV enhanced.Bill M

Hi Bill,So if I understand correctly, Wideclient is losing its connection to Wideserver intermittently, causing ASVe to "disconnect" then "reconnect", and each time, by design, ASVe is sending a "clear all weather command" followed by an initial weather set because it essentially thinks FS9 has been closed and re-opened... ?It does indeed sound like a network/wideFS setup issue. We haven't had this reported before. Could you send us your wideclient and wideserver log files? This might indicate where the problem is.As to why it occurs approaching an airport (or in bad weather), it sounds like it is influenced by the performance of the FS machine, as both situtations could potentially cause a high-overhead scenario. My first guess as to the problem would be a software firewall on the FS machine getting overloaded and not appropriately delivering/accepting packets...

Hello I just did the same flt. ASV workrd fine until I got about 40 mi out from KSEA. I was getting good radar returns from rain in the area. Then everything clears, ASV start searching the servers again, weather loads, then clears again. Back and forth.Maybe I'm wrong but If FSwide is loseing the connection, I would see it above in the main title window where it says connected. But it stays on, no fluxuations. On my wide machine there has always been, FltMax, 530 Garmin, Fuel Loader and Activesky. The weird thing is I never had any issues until the last AS update. But sure I can send you the FSwide files.Do you want me to post them or where to send??Bill M
