November 12, 200520 yr I have noticed lately that when doing a "fetch report" for the destination weather the the weather shown in the top box in the interface is:KSNA 121453Z 00000KT 5SM HZ FEW015 SCT200 11/08 A3010 RMK AO2 SLP194 60001 T01060083 53006, and in the bottom box:KSNA 121120Z 121212 00000KT P6SM SKC FM2100 23009KT P6SM SKC FM0200 18005KT P6SM FEW020 FM1000 VRB03KT 5SM BR OVC019What bothers me is the wind direction and speed of 00000KT. This seems to occur alot, but mostly for the destination airport, but it has happened oas well in the "Closest Station" box as well. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm not sure if it has been reported before. I know it would be possible to have 00000kt, but highly unlikely to have no winds at all!Best regards,Tom i913900KF (5.8GHz) | Case: Fractal PopAir RGB I Gigabyte Z790 UD AX| MSI Gaming RTX 4070Ti Super 16GB | Kingston Fury Beast 64GB DDR5 5200Mhz | SOLIDIGM P41 Plus 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD | Samsung SSD 870 EVO 2TB | Thermalright Frozen Notte 240 MM Liquid Cooling | LG EVO 42" Monitor 3840 x 2160 120Hz | Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo | Logitech G Pro pedals | Tobii EyeTracker | 850W Thermaltake 80+ GOLD |
November 12, 200520 yr Author Ha ha, maybe this isn't as far fetched as I first thought. I went to "Weatheroom.com" and the surface winds for KSna were 00000kt! Is a way for the station to say there is no available data for surface winds, so it just posts the data as 00000kt?Regards,Tom i913900KF (5.8GHz) | Case: Fractal PopAir RGB I Gigabyte Z790 UD AX| MSI Gaming RTX 4070Ti Super 16GB | Kingston Fury Beast 64GB DDR5 5200Mhz | SOLIDIGM P41 Plus 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD | Samsung SSD 870 EVO 2TB | Thermalright Frozen Notte 240 MM Liquid Cooling | LG EVO 42" Monitor 3840 x 2160 120Hz | Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo | Logitech G Pro pedals | Tobii EyeTracker | 850W Thermaltake 80+ GOLD |
November 12, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,Yes the data is correct, the wind is/was "calm" (I am about 20 miles from KSNA). If memory serves me correctly, "calm" is called when wind is 3kts or less. When "calm" you'll see 00000KT.In ASV we automatically increase the true in-sim depiction to approximately 3 knots (variable direction) when 00000KT is specified, to keep things realistic...Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
