December 30, 200520 yr Looking at the Graphics program and route planning - I see a big question mark. If I have a flight plan and process it offline, it appears as if only most recent time / reports are used? What happens if I plan on flying six hours or several days in the past? It seems as if all weather influenced graphic choices would then be based on "bad" data. So when I start FS and adjust the date and time the plan updates (or not?). Then the "weather influenced" graphics may very well not match? Is this correct?Trying to get a handle on this great release.Thx,Joe Lorenc Joe Lorenc
December 30, 200520 yr Hi Joe,The graphics are going to match to the weather used, either an Offline file or Online. Changing the time/date in FS is not going to "mess" this up.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg
December 30, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi Joe,To add to this..The only textures that can be updated on the fly are the cirrus textures. So with auto-submit using wx-influenced cirrus theme you'll be getting changes according to the wx you are actively using. With all the other textures, we can only submit them before you load FS9, so we use the active wx at the time (departure station when loading flight plan, or default station without). Yes, flying 6 hours into the future means the graphics selections will not be matched to this new time period/wx scenario. It will be from the original conditional process/submit before FS9 was loaded.Because we can't change these textures in real-time, that is all we can do for now. We're hoping the next version of FS gives us some more power here :)Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 30, 200520 yr Author Hi guys,"With all the other textures, we can only submit them before you load FS9, so we use the active wx at the time (departure station when loading flight plan, or default station without)."Would it be feasible to have the option of entering departure date/time into the New Route planning mode when offline? That way the offline process date and time would match what the user eventually input when starting FS. Just a thought - may be not feasible. Its just that a lot of times I may be flying scheduled route that is several days in the past . . .Thank you both for the replies.Joe Lorenc Joe Lorenc
December 30, 200520 yr No need to have that.If you fly in the past you probably also know what time you are going to fly at. Just download the cycle files you need and make sure the one active is for the time you will be departing. Load the flightplan into AS, it shoud refresh and set textures based on your preferences.Set AS to use FS time and enable offline sequence so that AS load next cycle file when FS time pass the top of the hour.JT
