Out of date weather?

Featured Replies

I was flying in the Seattle area around 08:00 pm local time on January 5, 2006. As I understand it, the Zulu date/time is 060400Z. However, when ActiveSky 6 downloaded the weather (in online mode), it said that the active weather is 310350 and the closest reporting station is reporting 310256.Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this make it weather from the 31st (of whatever month) at 0256?Thanks.

Hi,Yep, something is wrong, the first 2 digits do indeed specify the day of month, in this case it looks like Dec 31.Do you see the download process complete ok, or are there delays/errors? Are you able to download manually without problems, either current or archived weather? If having download problems, please check firewall, proxy settings, etc..If the download is actually occuring, and you are getting an old file, there is some kind of cache problem. We did have one other report similar to this about a week ago, which we have assumed fixed due to no response. The suggestion was to try forcing the secondary server, and see if the wx becomes up-to-date. If the problem for you is isolated to the primary server, it confirms a potential cache issue (secondary server download image filenames are unique, primary are the same). If you can isolate things this way please let us know.. it would help us work towards a fix for you and any others who may be in the same boat. Thanks!

Hi, Damian. Sorry it took so long for me to respond.I have no problems downloading the weather. I applied the 1C update and it seems to fix the problem, somewhat. The closest reporting station weather is ok, but the active wx display (right below the local and system time) still says 310350z. Also when I hit fetch for my destination, it still shows weather from the 31st.Thanks.

Hi, Jim.Yes, I have.

Hi, Jim and Damian.I did some more testing. If I force the secondary, it gives me the out of date weather. If I don't force any server, the upper part of the display for the Active Weather is still the 31st but the closest reporting weather is up to date. Hitting Fetch for a particular station gives me the out-of-date.

Hi,I too am having the same issue as Steven. I can download weather but the active wx continues to show 220550z, in my case. I've also tried the secondary server option after the default unchecked option and neither makes a difference.Tom

Ok, I'll try that when I get home from work tonight. Got to go to the real job now, at the airport of course. Thanks,Tom

Uninstall and reinstall 1C only or both 1C and AS6? I started having the problems prior to installing 1C.Thanks.

Hi,Yes we need to get to the bottom of this one. Only 2 reports? Since either primary or secondary has same results, it is not a cache problem as far as I can tell. This will probably need some special debugging. Would you 2 mind e-mailing me at [email protected], so I can do some offline troubleshooting with you? Thanks!

Also,Just an FYI... the effect of having the current date/time shown in the closest wx station report with TAF processing enabled is normal. The weather is still out of date as confirmed by fetches or Active Wx date/time shown.
