  1. Mr. Allensworth, What you've given us through Avsim is a place to gather, and learn about our favorite hobby. Thank you for that! Its where I come to everyday for the last 10 years or so. Please know that all possible good wishes from all of us here are coming your way in your fight. Tom
  2. At times it may seem a little harsh, but when using the adjustable settings in MaxxFX , it can be tweaked to each person's personal preference. Tom
  3. In the quest for micro stutter free smoothness, I was just randomly picking things in the settings menu to turn on and off. One of the unintended results was to notice the difference in how the overall dawn and dusk environment looks when "draw per pixel lighting" is unchecked. Until now, I had assumed that having more options checked meant a more realistic scene. And I had been very much enjoying what I've been seeing for the longest time with it checked. But today I unchecked it and was pleasantly surprised as to how much more realistic the reflections on the buildings looked. Buildings facing the sunrise or sunset are the first and last things to capture the sun's glow in reality and this setting "unchecked" really brings it out. In the 'Special" section up top I have the "show sky colors" set at "clean" and WOW!! Now I imagine that everyone's "clean" sky colors pallette is different (X-Plane 10, Resources, bitmaps, sky colors) but............experiment and hopefully you'll be as pleasantly surprised as to how much more natural it looks. No hit on frame rate either. Tom
  4. Tried this out today following the excellent, short, read-me guide. It works beautifully! I was able to download Hi Resolution Ortho Photos of KMKE and install them into WED and improve what I had 100%. And I was using the Simheaven Orthos as a base already and it doubled the resolution and clarity of the ground textures. Tom
  5. 10.35 is out. Tom
  6. Yes, you sacrifice that to see the vehicles on the ground instead of floating in midair.
  7. Scotchegg, disable runway follows contours and re-start. Tom
  8. Woah! This looks very promising. Thanks for the heads up. Tom
  9. Thanks. Though without the underlaying photoscenery, it kind of looks like garbage. Way too much grass and not enough pavement. Since it is the Simheaven photoscenery that has since been removed from the website, would I have to include that in the upload, and is that even legal? Tom
  10. Thanks Tony! Test upload of KMKE pics http://s23.postimg.org/bxkeiwamy/Car_B58_Baron_2.jpg http://s22.postimg.org/iav0tnnog/Car_B58_Baron_5.jpg http://s22.postimg.org/f6kcwv6w0/Car_B58_Baron_6.jpg http://s22.postimg.org/8rpxdxpk0/Car_B58_Baron_11.jpg Tom
  11. I'm sure a dumb question, but how do I attach a few screenshots to a post? Tom
  12. These last two posts are what I was wondering about myself. I've been working on KMKE for the past 6 months now through WED, and using the Chi. photoscenery (which goes all the way north to MKE) as the layer underneath. Not as clear as say, Google Earth, but enough to provide exact locations to place the proper sized buildings upon. And I've gone sometimes 2 miles in each direction from the airport to include much of the surrounding business parks and neighborhoods. This is my home airport, which I actually work at everyday in real life, so I pretty much am going overboard trying to include everything. So with that in mind, I guess its better to just offer it up outside of the Gateway since I'm using more than just the basic objects that is acceptable for inclusion in the Gateway airports....Correct??? And, when uploading a "finished" (its really never finished is it?) airport, is it customary to include all the object libraries used, provide links to them, or just say what libraries are needed and everyone gets them on their own? This is my first time even considering putting my stuff out there, but I have to say it looks awesome. Thanks for any input. Tom
  13. 337.88 seems to be the smoothest for me. Tom
  14. Thanks Tony. A few more questions if you don't mind. I'm using the Simheaven photoscenery of the Midwest and using WED to accurately place everything on top of my home airport MKE. I cross check everything with GoogleEarth as that photoscenery is more detailed. Would using G2XPL enable me to get a more clear photoscenery of MKE to use, even if its just the airport and a little of the surrounding land? Or would the difference be not worth the bother and time? Thank you, Tom
  15. Where is G2XPL available for download? Tom
