April 25, 200620 yr I uninstalled the beta completely, reinstalled AS 6 and still getting strange winds. Flew fro EHAM ti KIAD today. Landing at KIAD I had 259/59. Looking at SB3 .metar KIAD vrbl at 5. Yesterday while flying to EHAM the PSS 777 was gaining and losing altitiude, we we're almost across the pond. Switch to MSFS active weather and everything settled out. Tried to reconnect AS 6 and it started to bounce around again.Any thought guys?
April 26, 200620 yr Hi,You need to re-update. I am not sure what Build you are running now, but it should be B470 or higher. If it's not you need to use the SU3 update from our website. Are those winds aloft at KIAD? Any force options On?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
April 29, 200620 yr Just an update on some of the wind problems.Example was yesterday I was flying from RJAA to PHNL. About half way there the winds were very erratic so the plane was climbing, slowing down, speeding up etc (PSS 777). This happened crossing the Atlantic too. In FSUIPC, I set up wind smoothing not allowing winds shifts more than 2 knts every 4 minutes. While this solved the bouncing around a FL it kept high winds at landing (why I was showing goofy landing winds, xxx/55).Questions is what can I do to smooth out drastic wind changes at FL?Thanks!
April 29, 200620 yr Commercial Member "winds were very erratic so the plane was climbing, slowing down, speeding up etc "Are you sure this isn't VAS? This is a normal thing, small vertical air currents which might look like wind changes (actually updrafts and downdrafts).Auto-VAS generation can be disabled via options, or you can adjust the frequency and strength to preference.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
April 30, 200620 yr I find FSUPIC smooth wind setting of 0,5,8 completely takes care of radical wind shift at altitude. Works like a charm for me.Jim Harnes
