Active Radar

Featured Replies

Hello,I am a very satisfied user of ASv6, I find it to be flawless in operation and the weather systems generated are superb. My question relates to the Active Radar. I know this subject has been raised before. I have read the forum entries over again and again and have, I think, tried all suggestions.I am unable to get any returns on the radar and when I load the flight plan the depicted location of the aircraft is not in the correct place. The weather is listed as loaded and updated but is not correct but even in the current UK drought conditions precipitation is listed as none!I am sorry to bring this old chestnut up but I have tried for many hours to resolve the problem, and have clearly failed miserably. I can of course live without the radar but it would be a very nice add on.I use ASv6 via WideFS along with Radar Contact and 95% of the time fly PMDG B737. Any help will be very gratefully received. BestDave

Hello again,I have looked more carefully and can see that the weather in Active Radar is not updating with the correct weather. Indeed the ASv6 report is totally different to the Active Radar report. It does however record the correct departure airport, but still shows an incorrect locaction for the aorcraft.Hope this helps.BestDave

Hi,Please try a total uninstall/reinstall cycle. Then let us know!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Thanks for your responseI have carried out a complete uninstall and reinstal twice, it unfortunately made no difference.I did have to manually move the AR dll file as the automatic method would not work.My fs9.cfg file is not in Application Data but in a sub folder of Application data called FS9. I did not create this therefore I assume FS9 did on installation. Could this be a factor?BestDave

Hi,What does Active Radar Report your position as?What Build of ASv6 are you running?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Hi,I am running ASv6 with the latest beta upgrade (SU4).The position is reported as the departure airport, say EGKK (Gatwick), but when I load the flight plan into AR and reveal the route, the aircraft is shown as well away from the airport. During the flight the aircraft does not follow the depicted route at all.I hope this answers your question.BestDave

Hi,What are you using as your flight planner?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Hi,FSNAV, I have run its database updater so it should correspond with the airports within FS9.BestDave

Hi,I think that is the problem. Try with a FS04 generated plan and see what happens. The Radar database is not as complex.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Hi Dave,First, it sounds like there is a connection problem between the weather data and AR. Since you are on wideFS, it is probably due to some improper settings (you mentioned you manually moved files, but did you also run ARconnector successfully?).Please share your asv6.ini file and explain your drive mappings or UNC share configurations. 9 times out of 10 this is where the problem is.Please also feel free to email me at [email protected] with this info for direct troubleshooting.Best,

I too have had problem with the Radar. It was resolved a few months ago by a full un-install and re-install.It cured it.It has just started misbehaving again.Quite a lot of heavy rain in Nevada and Cal today but nothing on the radar.I am up to date apart from the latest beta.

Hi Chris,Try the uninstall/reinstall again. Sometimes files get removed or corrupted. It really isn't something we can duplicate at our end.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Hi JimI have a lot of Active Sky "stuff"in the list of programs for removal. These include all the versions I have owned going back a year or two.e.g.AS2004,2004.5,ASV,various upgrades and so on.I've just kept on upgrading every time you've issued one.As I mentioned I'm currently on 6 with all the upgrades apart from the latest beta.Do I remove all of these?I have all the original downloads saved.
