August 14, 200619 yr Thanks to the pinned article at the top and Jim setting me straight when the brain faltered I have got all my applications/addons onto the laptop except one - ASv6 :-bang In the extremely useful article (would have got nowhere without that) it says 'During the installation in the ASv6 setup window that asks you to navigate to the FGS9 installation folder.....' but I don't get that window. I only get as far as the Welcome to the Installshield Wizard window and then get an error 1606 message 'Could not access network location HomePCFlight Simulator 9'Now everything else has managed to find the folder - FSBuild, Radar Contact, Flightkeeper, my VA's ACARS programs so what gives? Please :-zhelp ThanksBill William Hall
August 14, 200619 yr Hi,Make sure your FS9 main folder is shared and your Application Data folder is shared. Also, make sure that your firewall/antivirus is not blocking things.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

August 16, 200619 yr Hi I hope someone can help, I've been pulling my hair out for over a week now.All my networking seems to be ok and wideclient connects ok however Active Sky just sits and says flightsim disconnected when it's actually running.I have noticed that wideclient hogs the cpu on the client PC, is this normal? I sometimes have to end task as it's not responding. Could this be the root of the problem? it's a 1ghz PIIII had no problems when active sky was on the flightsim PC.
August 16, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi There,Quick request.. in the future please open up a new thread to help us better organize support requests...Anyhow, no, it's not normal for wideclient to take much processing power at all. At first glance, it looks to me like a networking / configuration problem (networking/windows actually hogging the CPU, wideclient just getting involved in the mix). I would recommend you verify all your settings, ip addresses, and ensure you're in TCP/IP wideFS mode (not IPX).Finally, try running weatherset2.exe (with FSUIPC) and see if it connects ok on the wideclient machine. Make sure you can get this running before moving onto AS. For wideFS support you can go here: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
