August 17, 200619 yr After I installed ActiveSky 6, FS2004 fails to load. I uninstalled everything thinking it was a FS2004 issue, but after reinstalling ActiveSky the issue was back.I uninstalled ActiveSky and FS2004 works fine. What am i doing wrong? On a side note, does anyone else have issues with how slow this program runs?
August 17, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi, Can you give us more details? fs2004 totaly fails to load at the begenning? or stopped at a progress % bar ?ThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
August 17, 200619 yr Hi,As far as the speed issue:Make sure you are using B503.Make sure that the Disable Throttling options are checked On.At what point does your copy run slow?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
August 17, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,Have you changed any options in ActiveRadar? Possible that "alternate render mode" was enabled which can cause some problems with certain video cards. You can eliminate the AR element in testing this by deleting ActiveRadar.DLL from the FSmodules folder.Other than that, maybe check your FSUIPC installation, trying a re-install?Concerning performance of AS... We have really slowed it down over the revisions in order to prevent taking too much CPU during certain processes. You can disable the throttling (process and write) options which will let things run at full speed. If your system can keep up, you'll get much faster processing. With that said, there isn't much of a reason to run processes fast, as long as they all complete within the update interval. If you're up against long processes in the beginning while trying to use the AS interface functions, I suggest using "Start Paused" and only starting/refreshing once you're ready to go...Hope that helps! August 18, 200619 yr I tried removing the ActiveRadar DLL, and still no go. As for the error that I get from FS2004, there is no error. The program just stops responding and I for to end the process.Any other ideas?
August 18, 200619 yr Hi,We really do need more details. In your first post you say FS04 fails to load. At which point does this happen? Splashscreen? Loading textures? Loading weather? Loading traffic? On the Select a Flight screen? When you enter your plane? When you reinstalled FS04 did you delete your old FS04.cfg file and let FS04 re-build a new one?If using XP look in your Event Viewer after a freeze and see if anything is reported. In the near past did you do anything with your video drivers?Have you added new scenery or AFCAD files in FS04?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
