is it possible when i use "wx influenced"theme, that it always uses seasonal smooth 001, in this way i see no hard horizon.RickPent 4 3.0 1024 ht/offasus p4c800hd 200gb 4 partitionsmaxtor 7200 rpmati 9800pro 256 cat 5.1221"IIyama crt19" relisys crtwin xp sp2 CH yoke + pedals+ 1dell 1hp laptop for asv ivae etc

This was posted by Bojote:Neil is right!Power users can 'eventually' solve this after much tweaking, but less experienced users will have a hard time. Smooth horizons its a must.Neil, I think you can do what you are proposing. It's actually very easy. 1) Start Active Sky Graphics2) Click the selection details option (little magnifying glass)3) You will now see two panes. The one on the right has several options. Look under Sky Color for the one that reads 'Day' and click on it.4) Now, on the left pane select the Seasonal Smooth Horizon 0001 texture5) Make sure you click the green checkmark now, (the one that reads 'Select this item') 6) Now click on the other green checkmark, the one that reads Send to FS7) When finished, click on the save theme option. leave Full Sky Theme selected and input the name: WX Influenced (Smooth Horizon)Click SAVE (Now, this is VERY important, on the RIGHT pane, make sure, before saving that the Day option, under sky color is UNCHECKED so it is not overwritten the next time this theme is autosubmited)8) Now, open AS6 as you normally would before a flight and 'change' the autosubmit WX Influenced theme for the one that reads WX Influenced (Smooth Horizon)I'm at work, using my laptop (where Active Sky is installed, I use it via WideFS) so I was able to create the above instructions for you to try. However, I've not tried them myself... however, based on what I've read so far in the forums it seems that following the above steps will solve the hard horizon problem and the sky and ground will blend nicely.Works like a champ!

thanks, done that, now hoping that the upgrade has this option as well (smooth horizon), i am using ge pro as well.RickPent 4 3.0 1024 ht/offasus p4c800hd 200gb 4 partitionsmaxtor 7200 rpmati 9800pro 256 cat 5.1221"IIyama crt19" relisys crtwin xp sp2 CH yoke + pedals+ 1dell 1hp laptop for asv ivae etc

Hi rick,You will enjoy the update!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Yes, i have always liked asv, and now also ge pro.Problem is when i start ge pro and update the texture according the metar, it will overwrites day seasonal smooth 001 texture of asv.If i use asv after ge pro, and use the solution mentioned above by bojote, it will not overwrite the day texture, simply because it's switched off.( i think)But i will wait for the new update which i hope will solve this "problem".RickPent 4 3.0 1024 ht/offasus p4c800hd 200gb 4 partitionsmaxtor 7200 rpmati 9800pro 256 cat 5.1221"IIyama crt19" relisys crtwin xp sp2 CH yoke + pedals+ 1dell 1hp laptop for asv ivae etc

Hi,There is to be an option to choose which program supplies the sky texture!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Jim & Damien,I just started playing with "smooth horizons" last night while following another thread about copying and modifing the wx-influanced theme file but I'm not too sure I did right. Even I am confused about how this might be currently done so I too am excited about this feature in an update.Basically I like all variables (textures) to be wx-influanced but I want to permenently set what-ever file is neccessary to give me a soft (cloudy) horizon line.As ususual, HiFi support & development is right on track...

Hi,If you look at the theme file in the ASGraphicsThemes folder, for wx influenced (Wx-Influenced.thm), you'll see that each entry is set to WX.This means each entry will be wx-influenced. If you'd rather set a specific texture for a category, use that texture's name instead of WX.I.e.:DayColor = "Seasonal Smooth Horizon - 0001"I suggest you copy the existing Wx-Influenced.thm to a new one (i.e. My Wx-Influenced.thm) before editing so you can always easily go back to the original.Hope that helps!Best,

thanks damian, no i can overwrite ge pro sky textures with the right day texture.RickPent 4 3.0 1024 ht/offasus p4c800hd 200gb 4 partitionsmaxtor 7200 rpmati 9800pro 256 cat 5.1221"IIyama crt19" relisys crtwin xp sp2 CH yoke + pedals+ 1dell 1hp laptop for asv ivae etc

Thanks Damien. That indeed does work. There was still a bit too much of a hard-line separating the sky and the ground but right above that line (the furthest away portion of the sky) did look a lot more hazy. Basically I'm trying to somewhat duplicate the 29m visibility setting appearance by using textures instead of visibility-limits so the visibility to the distant ground is not as obscure as when set to 29m vis. If I could just get the haze in the distant sky to bearly drop across the gound-sky line, in my opinion, would look perfect. Any other suggestions or ideas are welcome. Thanks again...
