September 25, 200619 yr MartinCan you give us some options ie actual figures and settings re;visibility settings in FSUIPC. I have read your TBBGtRFS but couldn't find any general settings eg GA below 10,000', 10-20,000', and so on. Great guide by the wayRegardsPeterH
September 26, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,Of course ASv6 currently tracks the aircraft position. The problem is there is no way to know for sure if the user is in a cloud or not. i.e. Even if the METAR conditions say OVC at an airport 40nm in front of you, it has no bearing on the actual wx depiction at the aircraft. FS9 applies interpolation beyond our control and doesn't have any facility to report actual cloud positions. So without being able to know if the user is in a cloud or not, there's no way to synchronize effects. We could make assumptions, but would be wrong a good percentage of the time, making "visibility shifts" occur all the time without warning, even more than they are now. Which brings me to the second issue in this, in which we cannot change visibility through the 10SM mark without a huge visual shift in depiction. Instant white-out/clearing.Regardless, thank you for your suggestions and comments everyone! It may help us come up with a better solution in the future. Please remember to send future suggestions to [email protected] where we can more easily organize things. We appreciate it!Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
