ASV6 Winds Aloft and FSBuild

Featured Replies

Hey GuysI have been using FSBuild and ASV6 for some time now. I haven't really paid attention to Winds aloft and I recently noticed that I get no Winds Data in Fsbuild from ASV6. I have the path to ASV set in FSBuild so I am wondering what I am doing wrong or have set incorrectly possibly. BTW I run a Widefs setup with FSbuild on a different PC than what ASV6 is on. I have a drive mapped and then in Fsbuild use that drive and drill down to the ASV Folder on the Widefs PC.Here's my process:1)Open ASV and download the current weather.2) Open FSbuild and plan my route. My options are set to save the flight plan in FS2004 format.3) Go back to ASV and import my flight plan, input cruise Altitude and airspeed and process the weather stations.4) Go back to Fsbuild and rebuild the flight plan.If I then look at winds in my Navlog in Fsbuild it shows ETA/ATA as 000/000 .../...Any ideas or pointers would be a great help. I also am thinking that it may be an incompatibility due to running the two on seperate PC's.Thanks in advance

Hi,Quick question: Does the rest of the weather data show up in FSB?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Here is a copy of my fsbuild.cfg file after I've set the options below:AUTOREFRESH_DELAY=1MAGYEAR=2002AIRCRAFT=B737-700 w/ CFM56-7B24ROUTELINE=1NATRAKURL=www.natroutes.glideslope.de/html/nats.php3WEATHERPROG=ACTIVESKY2004-ASVFS_HOME=H:PROGRAM FILESMICROSOFT GAMESFLIGHT SIMULATOR 9AS2004-ASV=H:PROGRAM FILESMICROSOFT GAMESFLIGHT SIMULATOR 9MODULESASV6. . . .STEP_CLIMBTOC_TODINCL_CROSSING_ALTSCLEARMAP_BEFORE_BUILDDISPRTEWPTSONMAPWINDS_ALOFTAUTOREFRESH_ONThe options in FSB to set:OPTIONS pageExport Directories Tab - browse to your AS6 folder - and enter.Settings Tab - Apply winds aloft.Be sure to save your options on the settings page so they stick and then restart FSB. On your next run winds should show up in the FSB navlog winds column. (You do not need to enter the average winds on the Aircraft plan page in FSB since it will calculate them.)Be sure your FSB 'puter has rights to the shared folder you specified for AS 6.

I took another look at my path and I had ActiveSky in FSbuild set to S:ASV6I then thought about it said hey let me make sure the data is in that folder. Ended up it was a couple ore folders deep atS:ASV6ModulesASv6I changed it in FSbuild, saved the settings, closed and re-opened FSB and did a plan and biingo I got WA Data.ThanksJim One question !You asked if I was getting all the other weather data in FSB. What other data were yo refering to exactley and where would I see it in the Navlog. Thanks for the all the help. Responses with ", here's what I do" always help keep you thinking straight and are good assurance that let's you know "I'm okay with this, must be somewhere else"Now with these east coast winds tonight (40-50 mph at ground level) it should be fun.

Hi,Thanks for the update! You need to understand that I do not have FSB so what I know I learned from others!! I meant like the departure and destination weather conditions. I did assume that the plan might show those METARs.Thnaks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
