State of the Hobby Survey Discussion
I would beg to differ that we'll be forced to use FSX. I have all that I need at this point to fly FS9 for however long I want. I have the few add-ons I like and use. To use an analogy. Say you have a nice 72 Porsche Carrera that you drive. It runs great ! it's in good shape and everything works. Who or how would I be forced to get the new model. I don't upgrade it with all the latest gear. It is fine the way it is it does everything I need.Oh and yes I still use DOS command lines all the time. Some simple things are just easier faster and better suited for specific purposes.

Projector Choices
I am in the market for 3 Short Throw projectors and wondered what others suggest. I have seen the BenQ MX613ST for around $640 USD and wondered if anyone has a opinion or experience with it and if that would be a decent choice for low end projector. Thanks in advance Henry

X-Squawkbox traffic doesn't move
I have X-Plane 9.31 and downloaded x-squawkbox and have connected to Vatsim fine with no problems with Voice Etc. The issue I have is that the traffic at whatever airport I am at is frozen and doesn't move. For example if I connect and there is an aircraft landing and it is flaring then it just sits and floats at the same altitude and position for ever and doesn't move. If I disconnect and reconnect then it is at another location after re-connecting but it statys at the location and is frozen. It appears that I am getting the initial position when connecting but then I don't get any updated possitions for it so it never moves. During the whole time I am connected I am able to communicate with whatever controllers are online at the time fine. I have flown for years on Vatsim in variuos version of MSFS and never have seen this issue.Any thoughts idea's or solutions ?Thanks in advance !Hank Adam

TrackIR 5 vs TrackIR 4
Get the IR4 as it works fine in FS9 and FSX save the money and get something that works without the aggravation. Had it for two years and no problems and use it everytime I fly and couldn't fly without it.

FSX Help?
I use FSINN with FSX and FS9 I used to use just SB with FS9 and then with FSX I used FSINN and actually like it better and find it more stable ( for me anyways)

Tileproxy via Widefs
I use widefs and simconnect as well as FSinn to run various flightsim addons from other PC's. Has anybody played with Tileproxy and any flavor of conduits on a seperate PC.I figured I'd ask as I have googled and not found anything and don't like going down dead end roads. Not that you don't find a lot of interestng and eye opening idea's but right now I don't have the excess time to devote and then find out it's not curretly possible. Thanks in advanceHank Adam

Tileproxy Performance Tip
I dropped my resolution also and improved things. However... I use trackir and also and any FPS lower then 10 gets jerky. I don't really see any FPS improvement unless I am at Unlimited. I was wondering if it's at all possible to run Tileproxy on another PC through WideFS

JPEG decoding problem
Per Cristian ........ Google Inc. kindly (but authoritatively) asked to block access to any server in the domain *.google.com from the Tileproxy application. In return for my cooperation I was offered a free T-Shirt which I considered to be the better deal - as opposed to a lawsuit. Let me stress that Google was very forthcoming in this matter and contact with me was established by their engineering department - not the legal department.

No way to get back into Level-D official forum
Took me a couple of months........... might try getting another email address like a hotmail one or gmail etc. You have to go through the vendor and their support or lack of it is terrible,

ASX problem with FEX
hladamjr replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHow in the heck are you able to grab the exact same location for the second shot as for the first? And I do mean exact down to the every detail and alignment cept for the sky variation. And the refelction of the sun on the water in the same location except there is no sun in the second shot.

A Disappointment with SP2
Maybe you guys should look more seriuosly at X-plane. I would love to see more in the way of serious commercial add-ons for it. I have recently delved into it after a big dissappointment with FSX. I too get much better graphics with FS9 than I can ever hope to with FSX. It be great to see some serious development using X-plane in the area of weather, Vatsim etc etc.Hank Adam

Flight Plans
hladamjr replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI have always used FSBuild for route planning. Gives you the option to save the plan in a wide variety of formats. Just tell it where your ASX is installed and then in ASX just import the plan and your done.

TrackIR 4 PRO + TrackClip PRO
I purchased mine through Naturalpoint. At the time they had and I believe they still have a 30 day money back tryout. But......... after 5 minutes you'll forget about returning it. I use the clips on the hat and never have a problem. I use my headset alot and having something clipped to it I would worry about it breaking, especially when it is not in use. I wouldn't want to unmount it constantly either to keep it safe. The hat clip is durable and works great. Try it first as the clip is way overpriced I think and is not any more accurate. And yes it will fit fine on a laptop. You'll be surprised at how small it actually is.... and oh yea... like everyone says you won't ever fly a 2D cockpit again and will wonder why you waited so long!

Level D FSX
For you LD767 VC addicts ( me included) try setting your ( or really deselecting) the high resolution VC setting. I did this and gained a couple of FPS. Really helps at the busy airports. Until DX10 is out and I go to Vista and a new system with the lates Video cards. I don't try and push the limits with FSX or the LD763. I did not fly FSX after first trying it when it came out until the LD767 was ready. I flew the FS9 version online almost 95% of the time. The FSX version is as good as the FS9 version with the high res off I think and the new FMS and VNAV is truely realistic.

ASX/XGraphics Network install
hladamjr replied to hladamjr's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumGreat !!!! Thanks Damian for the quick response. The reson I ask is that With ASX up and running on the client PC and X Graphics up and running on the server ASX says there is no X Graphics installed on the PC ( Which there isn't since it's on the server) I can't laucnh X GRaphics from the client but it does appear to have the Launch ( or enable) weather influenced Graphics button available on the server versio of X Graphics. I never was asked for a location of X Graphgics when installing ASX on the client which is really what makes me ask if it mattered. Thanks again for being #1 in both Aviation Simulation Add-ons and continued Worldwide support you guys provide for your line of products.Hank Adam

ASX SimConnect has broken my TrackIR?
hladamjr replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI am having te same problem with Track IR4 I'll give that a shot also. I assume I just copy and paste the line and edit it to local ( as it was originally I believe). Jim/Damian ... if that's the case maybe the doc's should readt to add a comm line and edit it to add in the global settng. That way this won't be an ongoing support question or issueThanks for being the "BEST" Support in the Universe. As a customer I hope I speak for everyone when I say I always feel like I am valued customer each and every time I have a question or problem ( which is very infrequent)Hank ADam

ASX/XG and Add-ons Menu Missing
Hey Guys !Coudn't wait till today and it's like Christmas. Networked install of the bundle went fine. Did a couple of quick flights and loved the graphics additions. Had to change to daytime as I couldn't wait till morning :). I use Track IR4, have Jeppesen Simcharts installed as well as EFBFSX and FSINN which are all accessed from the Add-Ons drop down Just noticed that since installing ASX and XG this evening I no longer have the drop down menu for Add-Ons.Just wondering if you guys have run into this during testing at all and if so what do I need to do? I am not even going to mess with anything tonight as it's late. Learned along time ago not to play with things when you start to get tired.BTW I Have ASX on a client PC while I have AG on the FSX PC. Comunications are fine BTWE between the two. The AI Traffic Test worked fine as well as Weather updates. Thanks a million for another Great Product !!!!! And BTW the way I think both are worth every penney if not more. If anyone thinks it's a little pricey. Take out a second mortgage or do whatever you have to do to get em. You won't regret it one second !!Thanks

ActiveSky 6.5 & FSbuild
hladamjr replied to a post in a topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI run FS9,FSBuild on my Wideserver and ASV65 and SB3 on my wideclient CP. Works fine so if your having problems just install FSBuild on your Wideserver and you'll have no problems. Just make usre that in the options in FSBuild you browse all the way down to the correct ASV65 folder so that you get windsaloft data for FSBuild for flight planning.

Oddly thats the only file in the root folder, is that correct or should it be in the ASV6 folder thats in the modules folder? Just wanted to let you know as this happened to me the same day as Stefan and I have been running smoothly for quite sometime til now.I can post my issue in a seperate topic if needed let me know.

ASV6 Winds Aloft and FSBuild
hladamjr replied to hladamjr's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumI took another look at my path and I had ActiveSky in FSbuild set to S:ASV6I then thought about it said hey let me make sure the data is in that folder. Ended up it was a couple ore folders deep atS:ASV6ModulesASv6I changed it in FSbuild, saved the settings, closed and re-opened FSB and did a plan and biingo I got WA Data.ThanksJim One question !You asked if I was getting all the other weather data in FSB. What other data were yo refering to exactley and where would I see it in the Navlog. Thanks for the all the help. Responses with ", here's what I do" always help keep you thinking straight and are good assurance that let's you know "I'm okay with this, must be somewhere else"Now with these east coast winds tonight (40-50 mph at ground level) it should be fun.

ASV6 Winds Aloft and FSBuild
Hey GuysI have been using FSBuild and ASV6 for some time now. I haven't really paid attention to Winds aloft and I recently noticed that I get no Winds Data in Fsbuild from ASV6. I have the path to ASV set in FSBuild so I am wondering what I am doing wrong or have set incorrectly possibly. BTW I run a Widefs setup with FSbuild on a different PC than what ASV6 is on. I have a drive mapped and then in Fsbuild use that drive and drill down to the ASV Folder on the Widefs PC.Here's my process:1)Open ASV and download the current weather.2) Open FSbuild and plan my route. My options are set to save the flight plan in FS2004 format.3) Go back to ASV and import my flight plan, input cruise Altitude and airspeed and process the weather stations.4) Go back to Fsbuild and rebuild the flight plan.If I then look at winds in my Navlog in Fsbuild it shows ETA/ATA as 000/000 .../...Any ideas or pointers would be a great help. I also am thinking that it may be an incompatibility due to running the two on seperate PC's.Thanks in advance
