Real World Weather

Featured Replies

I have ASv6.5 for fs9. A great addition to my 'realism' arsenal. For some obscure reason I am no longer able to access the fs9 'real world weather' site or have not been able to for a day or so (it could be the site) but a question springs to mind. If I have ASv6.5 configured to give me online updates, is it necessary to have fs9 obtaining them as well?Jon S.

I don't think this has anything to do with ActiveSky. I am in France and have not been able to access 'real world weather' since mid Friday (Dec 15). Is anyone else having this problem?

I actually posted this observation in another section of the forum and you're right, it has been down since Friday, even given the 9 hour time difference between France and Australia. I was considering it may have been some kind of corruption caused by a Windows Update I installed around the same time. Of course, if I was a conspiracy theorist, I would suspect that MS had decided to 'pull' the service for fs9 users to encourage upgrading to fsx. Gives one pause for thought. It is very unusual for the Jeppessen site to be offline for such a long time.Jon S

Hi All,No FS Real Weather is Off when using AS. And there are no theories either! FSX weather comes from the same MS server!!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

You won't need the real world weather option in FS when you are using Active Sky. In fact you should make sure that all weather options are set to off via FSUIPC.But you'd know that if you'd have read the manual. :(

Hi,What manual are you talking about ? I've been wondering about how to set-up the weather options in FS9 when using AS and still don't know. Few tries I did were not successful, tried to "send to FS" some weather themes from ASG and after lauching FS9 I did not have the weather as selected in ASG. (I have FSUIPC 3.xx) and I alsocleared the weather.I would like to have more document / support for this applicationRegardsSk

ASG just selects which textures will be used for the weather. It doesn't create any weather in itself.

Hi Sk,Let's see if we can get you going here!1. There are many manuals installed when you install AS. Go to Start/Programs/Active Sky 6 and there should be 6 different documents that we have developed. Most of them are many pages long!!2. For weather options in FS04: Dynamic Change set to None. Weather will automatically be set to User Defined. Clouds 100% 3D and cloud coverage set to maximum.3. There is no weather data in ASG, only texture themes. The weather data will still come from AS, so the theme in ASG will not look like the theme in FS.4. I don't know how much more support we can give. Sometimes we visit this forum 10-12 times a day including weekends and holidays. Same goes for e-mail support! I hope this helps you out!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
