January 13, 200719 yr Lately I have had a problem where the Altimiter will revert back to 29.92 after the program sets the correct setting for the airport I am starting at. After takeoff it works just fine thru landing and shutdown. I figure it is one of the settings I have but this is the first time I noticed it. I am not sure why it is doing this. Help please.
January 14, 200719 yr Hi Ken,See if you have Force Constant Route Pressue checked On. Please let us know.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
January 14, 200719 yr Jim, nope I do not have Force Constant route pressure on. I checked it first. Ken
January 14, 200719 yr Hi Ken,What else is running at the time?Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
January 14, 200719 yr Jim & Ken, I had the same problem last night on my first FSX flight. Pressure at KFLL was shown by AS6.5 as 30.11 but showed 29.91 on the ground (after hitting the "B" key). After take off, the pressure correctly displayed when I hit the "B" key again. When I landed at Freeport, the pressure reverted to 29.91 again when hitting the "B" key... I was running FSX, AS6.5(536) and Radar Contact 4.3 only.
January 14, 200719 yr Jim, today or I should say this morning It worked correctly. I just took off from SBGL and it had correct pressure the whole time I was on the ground. I did not change anything so I am at a loss for what it could be. It happened at KSFO yesterday so maybe later after I land in KTPA I will see what happens in KSFO and if I can dupelicate it. It is however working like it always has for me now. Go figure. Ken
January 14, 200719 yr Hi All,Not sure what is happening here. I have been flying all weekend with no problems and Ken's problem disappeared. I am not sure if it was the METAR that shifted the pressure or something like that. Let's just keep an eye on this for now and you can report back as necessary.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
January 14, 200719 yr I flew again this afternoon from Freeport and initially the pressure was ok but it was raining (not really). Then all of a sudden, the rain stopped and the pressure went to 29.91 again. It was ok in the air but went to 29.91 again after I landed at KFLL. ?????
January 15, 200719 yr Hi Steve,Now we are going to need to know what AS is reporting the pressure as.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
January 15, 200719 yr When I looked at AS6.5 the pressure at Freport was 30.24, skies clear. When I switched to FSX it was raining but the pressure was 30.24. There was a flicker and the rain stopped and the pressure went to 29.91 -- I didn't even hit the B key! It went from 30.24 to 29.91 by itself. I did hit the B key afterward but it didn't move. After take off, ATC told me that the barometer was 1018 QNH. I hit the B key and it moved to 30.24 (or something close to that).
January 15, 200719 yr Hi Steve,Thanks for the details.Seeing this is FSX, it may be something within FSX causing this. There are a few things that are not quite right and this may be one of them. MS was working on some stuff and I know we are also. As best as I can, I will watch this situation when I use FSX and see what I see.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
January 15, 200719 yr Jim, my issue is with FS9 and yesterday it worked fine. This am at KIAD it was 29.96 and updated the simulator properly then it went back to 29.92 in FS9 and showed 29.96 in ASV. I never got it to show 29.96 after the initial update the rest of the way up to above FL180. I am at a loss as to why. Below is my FS9 cfg file. January 15, 200719 yr Hi Ken,Try this:Reset FSUIPC to Default and Weather Settings Off.Lower your Suppression Ceiling just for now.Can you duel boot into XP?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
January 15, 200719 yr Jim, I lowered my Suppression Ceiling to 100ft and resetFSUIPC to default and it worked just fine. I will try another flight tonight and see what happens. Ken
