January 16, 200719 yr Jim, tried the suggestions and when I get the PMDG 747 on the tarmac at KIAD it updates the pressure but then it resets to 29.92. I don't have XP on this computer but do have a second one via widefs will try that next. Ken
January 16, 200719 yr Well, I downloaded the most recent FSUIPC from Pete's site (4.06) and reset the defaults. After that I set my flight up at KFLL. I reduced the supression altitude to 100 ft. AS6.5 told me the following conditions at KFLL: Wind: 135T/4kts Vis: 20+ Miles Clouds: Few 2400 Broken 3500 Altimeter: 30.12When I got in the plane, Radar Contact told me: Wind: 135/4 Vis: 20+ Miles Clear Altimeter: 29.92That wasn't the only problem. I also could not SEE.... There was a thick blanket of what looked like FOG. I went into ASv6.5 and unchecked the fog layer generation box and the depict FS Haze Layer box. Went back and the fog persisted. I left the gate in the fog and suddenly, the fog was gone. Wow, I told myself, it regenerated and it's gone. Wrong. It came back just a few seconds later. Can't use it the way it is right now.I even rebooted and reset the flight. Same results. Any ideas?
January 16, 200719 yr I tried another flight. First I reset the defaults on FSUIPC and did nothing else except check the unlimited battery life box. Then started up AS6.5. Then Radar Contact. This time everything was just fine. Looks like the default settings on FSUIPC are the ticket. I had checked everything I had in FS9. Clearing them seemed to do the trick.
January 16, 200719 yr Hi Steve,No, not at the moment. It is too late for me to fire up FSX right now, but I will look into this station tommorrow night when I get home from work and then a basketball game, dinner, a walk of the dog, e-mails, new posts here and there, and anything else that may come up!!Guys, if anything new happens, just add on to this discussion. It is strange that only the 2 of you are reporting this kind of problem.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
January 16, 200719 yr Hi Steve,And that is what solved the pressure problem in at PHNL a few threads down!! So something is set to cause this. Is this a registered version of FSUIPC?Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
January 16, 200719 yr Jim, twice since my last note I have gone to KIAD and used the PMDG 744 with same livery, with GE and same flight plan and the pressure worked fine. I had done the FSUIPC defaults but neglected to shutdown FS9 and restart. Apparently that did the trick but I will not celebrate till I do a reboot and try the flight again in the morning. However it looks like default settings helped like it did for Steve. I do have a reg version of FSUICP but am using FS9. Will try out FSX tomorrow also. Ken
January 16, 200719 yr Yes, it is a registered version of FSUIPC v4.06. I didn't specificly say so above but the pressures worked just fine. Actually, it was 30.15 at KFLL and stayed there throughout the flight to Nassau. I checked AS6.5 after the flight and it said that the pressure at Nassau was, indeed, 30.15.
