Active Sky WxRE-Custom weather

Featured Replies

How easy is it to say create a custom thunderstorm with the program? Is the user interface complicated in this regard? I,m thnking of buying it but I don't do much METAR downloading.I use weathermaker to create the weather I want. Will Active Sky be money well spent for my purposes? Thanks in advance

You better had asked this question at the activesky forum..Both programs have a different approach to weather in FS. The main purpose of ActiveSky is still making (excelent) use of available metar and taf sources. You can download heavy weather and yes further customize it to your personal needs and use this offline, but this way it lacks the dynamic component of weathermaker. Perhaps editing of tafsources could do the trick because taf is forecastinformation. Hello,I think ASwxRE will work very well for you. Creating custom thundestorms is very easy, for example. For the way you like to fly, with no METAR information and just randomly generated weather, may I suggest the automatic download and create new feature, which will take any hour from the NOAA website, download that weather to your system, and then allow you to fine tune it. You can even program dynamic weather changes by editing the TAF reports. One thing to note is that the weather will not just start randomly generating, it needs information, weather it be online, offline or custom sources. In this regard perhaps a simpler add-on would be more ideal for you but do consider the advantages that dynamic weather according to your own custom reports will bring...
