Old weather updates? ASv6

Featured Replies

Lately when trying to fire up AS with the latest online weather it gives me a rather old metar.Last example, today (10min) ago. Fired it up at 16:10 and it gave me the weather for 0210Z last night (Oslo Gardermoen).I'm using AS6 build 552.

Hi,Some stations may close down temporarily and not provide data reports resulting in older weather.Using TAF processing should really help in such situtations. If there is a continued problem with this station please let us know at [email protected] so we can investigate. Thanks!

Still the same, all over Norway and Sweden. The weather is not what it should be, and the metars are all 10hours old. TAF processing made things even worse with fog and haze, and the reality is CAVOK and 28 degrees C @ the moment.

Already notified Damian about this before.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&topic_id=32548I havent checked other stations in the area lately, but I know ENGM is sending NIL between normal cycles. The root of the problem is that server ignores the station for 1 or 2 cycles after a NIL report. If next fetch is also a NIL then another 1-2 cycles goes by. Guess you can see whats going to happen :) You'll be lucky to see 2-3 updates in 12 hours from stations that spit out NIL in between hourly reports.Only solution is to remove the dropping of fetch after NIL and do fetch even if last report was NIL.Another thing I've noticed is that ASv6 sometimes keep on using 24h+ old metars instead of using interpolation. I noticed this at ENBN several times.Hope ASv6 is not dead now that ASX is out. Speaking for myself, I have no plans to move to FSX yet.Guess server logs will tell how many are still using ASv6.
