May 11, 200818 yr Hello,I'm running ASX in a client configuration. After installing SP3, ASXwon't start any more. I receive the following error:Unhandled exception has occured in your application..... This happens during the 'Loading modules' phase. The Details info in the dialog is shown below. This configuration was working ok before the SP3 installation. I'm running FSX with SP2 and the SDK updated to SP2 also. But it seems that the installation file of the simconnect client is still the SP1a version. Simconnect is still working (tested with AI-traffic program).RobSee the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.************** Exception May 12, 200818 yr Author I rechecked my simconnect installation on my client pc and it seems to be ok. When I check the XEngine log file I got:11:08:23: Logging Initialized11:08:23: XEngine v1.0.0.332 Copyright
May 12, 200818 yr Commercial Member Hi there,It sounds like perhaps your AV/firewall software causing this... If you can indeed access this file through the same share (IntelDuoFSX) manually then it is something like the firewall software preventing access from ASX. When you update ASX's files this can happen with some AV/firewall software. You need to allow the 'new' ASX installation access.Another potential problem is if you've mixed up the mappings between appdata and Flight Simulator X folder (The default name FSX share is usually for the appdata folder, not the Flight Simulator X program folder). Make sure your shares are proper here.Does this help? Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
May 12, 200818 yr Author Hello,I checked the firewall settings (using the xp firewall on my client pc) no entry found. So added XEngine.exe. No luck, still the same. Checked my shares in the registry and they are ok. I then de-installed ASX and installed again. Started ASX without any SP and it worked ok again. Weather was updated in FSX. Installed SP3 again, same error again. Rob
May 12, 200818 yr Author Hello Damian,I did a little more testing, re-installed ASX again but now I installed SP2 and it works ok. Then I installed SP3 again and it gives me the error again. Then I looked at the shares and security permissions on my FSX pc (runs Vista Ultimate 64bits). I have a user (with admin rights) with the same userid/password there as my client pc. But this wasn't enough anymore after SP3. I had to change the permissions under the security tab as well. Either give the user group modify rights or what I have done now is add the user I use for the share permissions and give that user all rights on that share. Now it starts again. Thanks for your quick reply, RobBoeing Cockpit Projecthttp://members.chello.nl/~r.vanderwiele/
