SP3: ASX now kicking in and out

Featured Replies

After installing SP3 I now have FSX lose the ASX weather every few minutes, display default clear skies, then ASX kicks in again. Build 1160, tried default settings and many combinations. I'll remove SP3 until you've sorted this out. :)

no antivirus on my single PC, no error messagesproblem gone after going back to previous version

If anyone else experiences this please let us know. This is the only report with SP3 thus far and we have no data to go off of.Thanks!

Are you maybe referring to the clearing of the haze layer, specially noticeable while at upper FL's? I think you might have stumbled on the FSX sp2 issue whereby weather clears for a bit and then sets back in. I still see this as well. There was a thread here a while back about a hack to FSXsp2 (in the FSX forum) to stop this haze layer from disapearing momentarily. I haven't had a chance to try it yet and there were a few indications that the hack would have negetive impacts elsewhere in the scenery.Regards,

Ok, sorry for the delay but life kept me away from the sim. I reinstalled SP3 and the problem seems to be gone now.

Hi Al :) & AllI had this same issue (Of the WX switching between FSX/FSInn network weather and ASX) and found the following.ASX SP1&2 didn't show the problem. ASX SP3 did? The fixIf I did a manual reset of FSInn's weather from the off-line FSInn UI Panel then the problem was the resolved. For some reason after loading SP3 the FSInn WX control is reset to default even though it still shows disabled? It just requires cycling off on and all was good.I experimented with the install of both programs but nothing changed unless I installed FSInn after ASX but that just affectivly did the same as cycling the WX option...lol.I also found that if you load ASX after FSX then you get random switching as well, This happens only about 1 in 10 times . The obvious fix is start in order ASX, FSX, FSInn etc.I think this is more a FSInn simconnection issue than a ASX problem. The binding of FSInn might be a bit more persistant? just a guess of course... :) Just for info I have FSUIPC running as well so that could also be a variable?? It would be nice when everybody uses SimConnect so we don't need these add-ons for the add-ons...lolAnyway I hope this helpsRegardsSteve
