I continue to receive this error in a networked configuration of ASX with SP3 applied and FSX. I have all three of the SimConnects' installed (RTM, SP1a, and SP2) and have the SP2 SDK on the FSX PC. I don't find any references in this forum to this error. Please help!17:16:49: Logging Initialized17:16:49: XEngine v1.0.0.332 Copyright

Hi Jim,I also have this problem currently (although I didn't until yesterday when I thought I had messed things up and tried to re-install the FSX SDK!). I have checked that the file sharing is working by editing files in the Server target folders from the Client PC. AITraffic.exe runs OK on the Server and gives 'Connected to Flight Simulator!' followed by 'Received:2'.ASX shows depiction output active in green, has picked up the location of the aircraft, has produced the FSX green banner saying that ASX is connected, and ASX is beginning initial wx depiction. But then just lots of 'Exception received: 14' messages.Any ideas?Cheers, Richard

Hello Jim - Thanks for replying. I have verified that the file permissions are set correctly. I can open a file from the client PC, on the FSX (Server) PC and edit, and save the file to that directory. To confirm I used a DOS command to set the permissions again so the "Everyone" user group has Full Control to the directory, all sub-directories, and files. I continue to recieve the Exception 14 error. It doesn't appear to affect weather depcition in the simulator however...I still appear to be getting accurate weather. Are there any log files or excerpts I can post that may make it easier to troubleshoot?Thank you again for your help...you folks have an amazing product!

Hi Jim,Still have the same problem unfortunately.1. I have run AITraffic.exe from the CLIENT and receive 'Connected to Flight Simulator!' and 'Received:2' even while ASX is running.2. FSX shows 'ASX is connected' and 'ASX is starting initial weather depiction' on the green band.3. The exception received:14 messages start after the progress shows 'Data output thread has been started' and continues repeating while the progress also shows 'Start depiction output to FSX' (green 'Depiction Output Active' at bottom), 'initial weather synthesis complete', and 'reinforcing initial depiction'.4. I cannot promise, but my router appears to flicker in synch with the error messages.5. I have repeated the sharing process on my c:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator X SDK directory and all of its subdirectories, d:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator X and all of its subdirectories on the server, and the c:Program FilesMicrosoft Flight Simulator X SDK directory and all of its subdirectories on the client.Any further ideas?Cheers, Richard

Hi,Make sure the SERVER service is running on the FSX machine. If you are shutting down services this MUST be left running.Hope this helps

Hi Jim,I am now getting the error:14s only after the progress list says that it is starting depiction output to FSX, and I appear to be getting the weather simulated in FSX all the same. So, for now, I am just ignoring the messages.Cheers, Richard

Hi Lupo,I am not sure where I should look for the SERVER service. It doesn't appear in my Vista Task Manager processes list. Can you clarify, please?Cheers, Richard

I've done a couple of reinstalls and I've had this problem every time. Each time I rake my brain, and finally remember that (at least with ASX SP2) I need the simconnect client from the SP1a SDK. The client from SP2 SDK is causing this in my setup.Usually I just install the SP1a SDK on the laptop where I run ASX, retrieve the client and delete the rest. The SDK does not have to be installed on the FSX computer.Tom

mcdonar,I am not a vista user but you should be able to go to the administrator tool set and click on the Services shortcut to run the services config consol. There you can scroll through the list to check the status of all services. In XP it

Hello, I am getting the same error as everyone else is. I've just downloaded and installed all the software per directions and have networked per directions. All of the required folders are being shared and are not marked read only. I am running of Vista, FSX with SP2 and SDKSP1a. I can run ASX it downloads the data and I recieve the messages in FSX saying weather is downloading. In ASX I get the Exception 14 error message.TanksAndy
