September 4, 200817 yr Oh man - I am loosing the plot with this product. I really want it to work....I have FSX running fine - Acceleration with SP2. I have simconnect running OK (as far as I know!). I have set up my network shares as instructed and they are working.I have installed ASX and AGX to my client PC. AGX has backed up the textures over the network. Now my problem(s).1. I get no weather change. I set FSX to User Defined Weather. Run ASX - it downloads the latest weather. I fly and the weather does not reflect what ASX is indicating......2. ASX does not seem to pick up my Sim Time.3. If in WX Config I hit the apply weather button I get a popup saying Unhandled exception has occurred.... details as follows:See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.************** Exception Text **************System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.Parameter name: Argument 'Array' is Nothing. at September 5, 200817 yr Hi Kurt,Sorry for the problems. The second issue, when using the Wx Configuration screen can be fixed by downloading and installing this:http://dreamcatcher.hifisim.com/ASX-Update-B1161.zipA few questions:Are you using default settings in ASX?Does ASX recognize your current location in FSX?On initial load of FSX do you get the green message bar across the cockpit screen? Are ASX and FSX both set to use System time?Your log that you posted does not show any errors so that is good.So for now let's just use Online weather and please answer these questions when you get a chance. We'll take this one step at a time.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
September 5, 200817 yr Thanks for the reply Jim,Will download the update. To answer your questions:Are you using default settings in ASX? - Yes but with AGX integration on (as I am using AGX)Does ASX recognize your current location in FSX? - NoOn initial load of FSX do you get the green message bar across the cockpit screen? - NoAre ASX and FSX both set to use System time? - I have tried various combinations. Both set to system time at present.Your log that you posted does not show any errors so that is good. - Cool. All the bestkurt
September 5, 200817 yr If I understand you correct, you are using ASX on one computer, and FSX on another? I.e. a network setup? If so, have you installed the correct SimConnect version on the ASX computer?
September 5, 200817 yr Hi Kurt,Strange. Do you have FSUIPC 4 installed for other add ons?Weather in FSX set to User Defined?Dynamic Rate of Change set to 50% in ASX?Lock to FSX location checked On in ASX?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
September 6, 200817 yr Hi Jim,No FSUIPCWeather in FSX set to User Defined? YesDynamic Rate of Change set to 50% in ASX? YesLock to FSX location checked On in ASX? Do you mean Lock to Closest? Is so then YesThankskurtPS I had ASX installed on the SERVER PC originally - I uninstalled that from Control Panel - could this be significant?
September 6, 200817 yr Hi Kurt,I think your poblem may be that fact that you did not install the remote simconnect from all three SDK's on the ASX remote machine. The SDK, from the FSX Deluxe dvd, must be installed first (the msi is a lot bigger), then the remote simconnect from SDK v1, then remote simconnect from SDK v2. The last two are updates and a lot smaller than the full-size installer. All three simmconnect entries need to appear in your Add/Remove list on the remote ASX PC.I explained exactly how to do it in this thread here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&topic_id=39457Try it and see if it works for you; good luck... Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
September 6, 200817 yr Hi,No, that wouldn't make a difference. Please try the suggestions at the end of this thread from Al.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
September 6, 200817 yr Hi,Still no luck.I de-installed all of the MSIs then reloaded them on the ASX client as instructed - still no weather updates on the server.Installed all of the MSIs on the FSX server - no weather updates. This is a tad frustrating. All the bestkurt
September 7, 200817 yr >No, that wouldn't make a difference. Please try the>suggestions at the end of this thread from Al.Are you sure? I remember having a lot of issues when I only had FSX SDK SP2 SimConnect installed on my client PC... But maybe you fixed that in ASX SP3?
September 7, 200817 yr Kurt,I noticed you tested SimConnect by running AI Traffic on the server PC... Have you tested running AI traffic on the client PC?
September 7, 200817 yr Yes - I tried and it failed. I was unsure as to whether it should work or not on the client PC. I will try again with the new simconnects in place.Tried it and it does not function - I just got a CMD window which closes after about 30 seconds.kurt
September 7, 200817 yr Hi Kurt,See if your firewallsantivirus are allowing access.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
September 7, 200817 yr Hi Jim,I have set up rules to allow access (TCP and UDP) on port 500 from the specific IP addresses of the two systems so I am reasonably comfortable that they are functioning correctly.kurt
