October 7, 200817 yr Hi all, yesterday evening I've experienced a problem with VRB winds. I was landing at LIEO, rwy 24, the metar reported VRB06 040V240. Until under 1000 ft I had 20 kts headwind, and the wind arrow in the ND was moving continuously (even with Fsuipc registered, and the flag on the wind section), making my Maddog2006 going left and right. Suddendly, at about 600-700 ft the speed went down, no way to do nothing, because the wind rapidly changed to the metar condition, and still oscillating. Results: stall and windshear advise, but it was too late.Something similar 10 days ago in LIMC: VRB06 and on final 35R the arrow of the wind was rotating (complete 360
October 7, 200817 yr The same happens to me... the wind shifts in a rythmical way makeing complete turns or 90 Gino L. Patrassi
October 7, 200817 yr Hi All,First 2 reports of this. Can you confirm that you are using B1160?What Wind Smoothing options are On in ASX?Thanks, Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 8, 200817 yr Hi,Weather options off in your online connection software?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 9, 200817 yr >Hi,>>Weather options off in your online connection software?>>Thanks,>JimYes Jim, in IVAP weather options disabled. Anyway, I'm having these problems only last times, in my memory I've never had with ASX before, and nothing has been changed in weather options or whatever.Massimiliano
October 10, 200817 yr Hi,Can you get this to happen when not on IVAP?Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 10, 200817 yr Hi,In FSUIPC, reset to default settings and weather settings off. Then see if this happens.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
October 13, 200817 yr Hi Jim, yesterday everything was ok (but I didn't have any VRB wind). If I reset FSUIPC, the cruise becomes impossible for abrupt wind changes in direction/intensity.Massimiliano
October 13, 200817 yr Hi,OK go ahead and set just the wind smoothing up in FSUIPC.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
November 1, 200817 yr Today the same problem: I was landing at MUHG on 05, and metar told for wind 05011. Well, until 500 ft I had the wind arrow coming from left, starting from 110
November 2, 200817 yr Hi,It just may be the smoothing option you have set in FSUIPC that is causing this. The data may be just to slow to change. There is no smoothing on the ground so things snap back into place. Might be worth disabling smoothing and see what happens.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
November 2, 200817 yr Hi Jim, I appreciate your efforts, but as I told some posts before, disabling smoothing in FSUIPC leads to cruise similar to a ride...
November 2, 200817 yr Today experience: ILS 28 at LIME. Metar told 05006, when I started ILS I had 15 kts crosswind (rapidly changing in direction, on a 40
