I'm having trouble starting left engine. According to check list, I start the right onr first, then the left. The right starts with no problem. But the left side I prime and press the mesh switch nothing happens. I do hve the mags set to both.Bill M

Hi BillAll I can tell you is to follow the user's manual starting procedure exactly and the engines should start. No one has ever reported this phenomenon before, so I can only surmise you are doing something wrong with that left engine. If you find something different, please let us know. If you start the left, first, does it start, and does the right then start?Anyone else have any ideas?Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, and Younghttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

I read the manual. I think I'm following the procedures correctly. I tried starting the left first with no luck, however when I switch to the right, It fires right up. I'm at a loss here. If I press ctl E, both engines fire right up.Bill M

I'm having the exact same problem, spent 1/2 a day trying to start left engine first, with no sucess.

Did you guys notice that u need to push the switches UP for the left engine and DOWN for the right engine? That got me for a while until I watched the video again...Lol Mike B.

Thanks Mike! I bet this is it. If so, let's hear from you guys. Sounds like an entry for the FAQ. Guess I'm so used to it, that the possibility of confusion over the three-way switches did not occur to me.While the step-by-step Starting Procedure section of the manual does not mention the three-position switches, this diagram does...http://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/start_mouse.gif :-) Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, and Younghttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif

Yes, I Iwas unawware of the three way switch too. However I did figure it out. But still to no avail I cannot start the left engine manully. It sounds like it want to start, but just peters out. I switch to right engine, manually, it fires right up.Bill M

Ok, I got the left engine to start manually. I guess it was my fault, I was pressing the mesh switch down instead of up. I see now that this is a three way switch also. I guess I was use to starting the RD4 so much I ran into a brain #####.Bill M
