April 19, 200323 yr I have just donated my $5 to MAAM to get the old version of the R4D (I got a friend to donate for me when the original FS2k version came out), and forgot all about it until the other day. Anyway, I have updated it for FS2k2, and donated to the museum, and I cannot for the life of me remember how to close the door, and a couple of other things. Can anybody remind me about this? Also, does anybody have a copy of one of the older versions of the manual? I will go about downloading the original FS2k version again, just to get the older manual, but if somebody has it, could they please email it to me at [email protected] , as it would be a lot quicker and easier. Can't wait for my Briefing Time CD Combo to arrive!
April 19, 200323 yr Turn the lights on. You have to fly it with the landing lights on in order to close the door.
April 19, 200323 yr Hi folks...I think you'll find it's the nav lights, not the landing lights... :-)Ian P.:-halo
April 20, 200323 yr I have most of the older manuals. However, all are "graphics intensive" so even zipped up they are quite large (the V4 manual is 7.5Mb in size) so unless you have broadband, it'll take a while to upload. If you like, I can stick the V4 manual on CDR and post it to you - just let me have your postal address. If you want a manual older than V4, let me know.Alastair
April 20, 200323 yr Commercial Member I have an even better solution... order the R4D CD. :-) All of the old version manuals are on it, in addition to three genuine vintage DC-3 pilot's manuals, a historical video, the scanned booklet, "Aircraft of the Mid Atlantic Air Museum", and hundreds of photos. The CD has up to date, one step installation versions of the R4D for FS98, 2000, 2002, CFS and CFS2. It's a bargain for $29.95 delivered anywhere in the world. Get it from the museum at www.maam.org. I just finished burning a new batch and will drive it up on Monday the 21st, so your order will be filled that day. April 20, 200323 yr That is, of course, the best solution of all, which all lovers of the R4D would benefit from !Alastair
April 21, 200323 yr Just ordered the CD version this morning. Looking forward to it arriving, as well as the BT CD (which sould be arriving first!)A question for Bill, if you don't mind? Will the GMax version of the R4D come with a multimedia CD similar to the Briefing Time one? Rest assured I will get it anyway, but I was just curious.CheersMalcolm
April 21, 200323 yr Commercial Member There is a very good probability of that. But, even if it does not have a second disc, the R4D FS one will be crammed with multi-media goodies. Thanks for the order. Got your CD right here. It will be at MAAM in three hours. :-) Gotta get in the Mustang and take off! - not a P-51, only a GT convertible, alas. :-)Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM - Rambow, Visser, Banting, and Younghttp://www.fssupport.com/maam_sim/maamsim_logo.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
April 23, 200323 yr Good, a fresh batch of CD's. Maybe I will get the one I ordered back when I ordered my combo B-25. My order confirmation on 2/19/03 list the R4D CD, but I never got it.
