April 29, 200323 yr This was the first picture of "Briefing Time" that I published...It says it all really!http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/6307.jpgBut if you have the patience, or Broadband, here is BT visiting Beirut:-http://www.fsscreenshots.com/dc/dcboard.ph...2&topic_id=1937Regards,Peter McLeland
April 29, 200323 yr Nice Beirut shots Peter, You really are showing your age with all that FMC talk! Don't worry, I'm not that far behind you!regardsTim
April 29, 200323 yr Oh, I was talking to Jan (Visser) the other day and we were discussing just how many pictures of BT are posted with the side window open! Pretty damn draughty, not to mention noisy! I guess it should be the last item of the pre-take of checklist. "Side window closed and latched"! LOLRegardsTim

April 30, 200323 yr Love your screenshots, Peter ! Good to see you've got one posted here too ! :-) That Beirut scenery ain't looking half bad either ! Also gotta say i think the Hawker Hunter is one of the most beautiful looking jet fighters of all times ! Like i heard Johnny Johnson say in a documentary about the Spitfire : " we used to think that if an aircraft looked right, it flew right " . Can you confirm ? Oh, and completely agree with you about that FMC topic ! ( Hi,Tim! :+ ) best regards,Jan
April 30, 200323 yr >Hi,Tim! :+ ) Hello you old Dinossaur(sp)! I know all about you and your views on them modern FMC/GPS contraptions! Give JV a DC-3 and a compass and he's in 7th heaven!, oh and maybe a Connie and a Hunter! :-lol BTW Jan I recorded another of those "Plane Crazy" progs for you. You'll love this one, there's an item about an English guy who's Just bought his own DC-3 and is learning to fly it. Seen practising circiits and Engine failures. In his spare time he races a single 300hp Aero Commander -200, very nice looking and rare aeroplane.I'll drop it round when I get back from London.:-wave BestTim

Can you confirm ? >Hi Jan,Yes, I can confirm :-) I have about 1000 hours on the Hunter...Mostly on the Mark IX which was my absolute favourite. It had by then evolved into a very different aeroplane from the Mark I which had some very serious shortcomings. Most of my Hunter flying was in Africa and Arabia...I've published this picture before, but I love it...It hangs here in my "FlightDeck" room :-http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/6525.jpgI'm flying number four ("In the Box") position in this picture and the mountain is Kilimanjaro.Regards,Peter McLeland

Ending up inside a mountain during approach twice in row ! :-hah>BTW Jan I recorded another of those "Plane Crazy" progs for>you. Care to do an FS representation ? 90% of your wonderful FS shots have the aircraft you're flying upside down anyway.. ;-) As much as i would've loved to i never got around doing a Hunter for FS. MAAM *does* have a Hunter in its collection so maybe who knows something for the future ( make a note of that, Bill.. :-cool )Thanks very much for your comment, Peter, it's a great honor to talk to a former Hunter pilot! I know where to find you when one day i have that most gracious looking plane on my drawing board finally ! :-) best regards,Jan
May 1, 200323 yr Well, if MAAM does do a Hunter, they'd have an ideal Beta Tester. Only problem is, you could only fly it upside down !Maybe Bill, Jan and Peter should get together .............
May 1, 200323 yr Commercial Member Noted, Jan. :-) The good news is, we do have a Hunter. The bad news is, it's up for trade for an aircraft with a Mid Atlantic States connection. But before it goes - if it does - I'll try to get a mess of pictures of it. It's sitting across the field, so I have never gotten a really close peek at it. May 1, 200323 yr Bill Noooo! You can't do that to us, tell us you have one and then get rid of it! It just "plane" isn't fair!!! ;-)Seriously, the FS world would be a far better place with a Hunter up to MAAM-SIM's standards. Are you sure we can't make you change your mind on the next project? ;-):-hahIan P.:-halo
May 1, 200323 yr Commercial Member Geez, Ian, we're just trying to get through the present one! ;-)However, if you care to make Russ an offer, perhaps she can be yours - the real one, I mean. I think I know where you can find an IP ;-) What say you, Peter?
