May 14, 200422 yr Just a few weeeeeeeeeks, yes? So could we have a couple of new screenies until we can get our `fix`:)Allcott
May 16, 200422 yr Yeah... whats up?Are you guys aware that I am going through some serious withdrawals? Its beens soooo long since I've had a DC-3 to fly the Aleutians.... into bush strips... How I long for those days of yore...Regards,Ted Panamarioff - Kodiak, Alaska
May 16, 200422 yr There's a lot of call for the simmers bucks these days - and it looks like a bumper crop is due about the same time as the R4D-6, assuming the R4D-6 is still coming out in time for the D-Day memorials? There's no sign of forward ordering details or further screenshots and I'm sure a lot of simmers may have forgotten this is coming. ATR's, King Air 200's, 727's, 707's and expensive scenery are all about to be released. Like many, I don't have a huge amount to spend on add-ons (I've got a computer upgrade lined up) and knowing where and when this is going to be released would be of great benefit. If it can be ordered NOW, then I would like to know. And before I do, I'd like some more screenshots to confirm that it will be worth it (although I'm sure it will be!) Allcott
May 18, 200422 yr Commercial Member Stand up! Hook up! Sound off for equipment check! Stand in the door! The green light is about to come on. I am writing a full-blown press release right now. Hope to have it out tomorrow with lots of new screenies and the full story. The Douglas R4D/DC-3 CD will be introduced, demonstrated, and sold at the big World War II Weekend Show at MAAM in Reading PA, June 4, 5 and 6. Take a plane, take a train, take a car, take a hike, but get there! You will be treated to an absolutely unique experience - far beyond an "ordinary" air show. http://www.maam.org/maamwwii.htmlThe official, general release date will be June 6, 2004 - 60 years to the day after thousands of brave soldiers hit the beaches and the silk at and over Normandy. I am only waiting for our MAAM webmaster to get the order page up and working to begin taking pre-orders. Deliveries on these orders will begin immediately following the show.As I write this, I can only guarantee the FS2004 package on the first edition of the CD, but things are starting to look possible for the FS2002 to be on it, too. If testing throws any spanners, monkey wrenches, or other loose tools into the works, the delay on a second edition with both FS versions will not be far behind. As announced earlier, the price for the three-aircraft CD will be $30, plus $4.95 for shipping, worldwide and will only be available directly from MAAM at www.maam.org.As of this writing, no download version is in the works or even contemplated, so when you get the word, order up and be one of the first to own the most realistic DC-3 simulation, ever. May 18, 200422 yr Great news Bill !I'd love to have been with you / meet you at the MAAM show, but it ain't possible, so I'll have to make do with the D-Day Airshow at Duxford. Hopefully the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be in action and that their Dakota will be suitably striped up !Then, when I get home, I can place an order for the CD !Best wishes to all at MAAM,Alastair
