May 4, 200521 yr Still looking for information on "Sugar Blues" for you. The name is for a song by Duke Ellington. This aircraft was the subject of a die cast toy and also is now an announced enhancement for the MAAM SIM R4D package (as well all know). As a result I get a plethora of responses on a google search having nothing to do with the real aircraft. However,......There are other sources left untapped, The 438th TCG association is one that comes to mind. Also,There are other 89th TCS aircraft. Lilly Bell II is oneThe aircraft behind Lilly Bell II is 42-00775. The Post-Normandy photo was taken At Greenham Common. Possibly during the Holland invasion. There is also a die cast version of this aircraft available in England.42-100770 is another 89th TCS bird and was MIA 19 Sept. 1944 and there is another 89th TCS bird in my backyard here in Oregon. I have photos and I will look for them and scan them for you.One word on markings. A variety of interpretations are out there regarding colors. Nose numbers and serial numbers are yellow the fuselage code designating the unit to which the aircraft is assigned (in your case "4U") should be a light grey almost off white in color as should be the call letter on the tail. I know a number of restorations are out there where they appear as yellow but they are in error. 43-15509 which is on display at the Imperal War museum is painted correctly in this respect and the grey color is supported by Ingrisano who was there with the 316th.Hope this helps. Send me an e-mail.Sam
