New nVidia drivers and FS2k2

Featured Replies

Following the advice in a couple of threads in this sub-forum, I have installed the new nVidia 56.72 drivers. As I mentioned in a reply in one of the threads, I did not notice any significant improvement in fps (maybe in smothness) but I had the kneeboard scrolling problem (in AA x2) solved. A negative point was that the letters in the menus were rather fuzzy, while with my previous driver (53.03) they were sharp.I was ready to accept this cost/benefit trade-off (in FS9) when I had to go to FS2k2 for a test. To my surprise I found lots of problems there: after choosing a flight and when the screen displays the 2D panel of the airplane I have chosen, the rendering takes a really very long time, with a black "curtain" moving down, until all the panel is visible. From this point on, all actions take a very long time (several seconds)to become efective: hitting the Alt key, to show the menu, or choosing a different direction of view from the 2D cockpit.Has anyone found a similar problem? I even tried to install the 56.55 (ASUS version) but the result was the same. Coming back to 53.03 everything was OK, both in FS2k2 and FS9 (at the exception of the kneeboard scrolling problem, of course).I hope someone will give me an hint to solve this problem.Best Regards,

OK... try one more thing... get the 60.72 drivers from www.guru3d.comand see how they work. The reason for the recommendation is that I just went from 56.72 to 60.72 and found it solved the funny display of the menu item titles. It also solved the screen disruption when hitting the alt button in FS9 and the screen disruption when loading the 737NG from PMDG.Ti4200 with 2XAA and 4XAF settings.
