Hi folks,Looking for some advice on upgrading my system:P4 2.4 533 FSBGeForce FX 5200 128mb DDR1G DDRWD 60G Caviar DMA/ATA-100Wondering how my $$$ would be best spent to increase performance.Upgrading to a 3.02G with HT ?Purchasing a new WD Raptor @ 10000 rpm ?Purhcasing an identical WD Hard drive and using the RAID capabilities of my MoBo?Purchasing a new Video card.Any advice would be [email protected]

I'd look at the video card first. The CPU speed is OK - going to a 3Ghz chip will help framerates some but the change won't be dramatic (maybe 10-15%). HyperThreading won't help and may, in fact, slow things down a bit. RAID will make no difference at all (but the second drive is a good idea anyway just for backup and peace-of-mind). The RAM is fine and a switching to a faster HDD won't make a noticeable performance change. But the video card is killing you :-) . Replace that with a 9800 Pro, or newer, and you'll be a much happier simmer.Doug
