November 17, 200421 yr Hi,I have fps in the range of 70-20 all time they are up and down, doesnt matter where allways my fps are jumping.Any advice pleaseRegardsTunks
November 17, 200421 yr No idea I have the same as well. A bit better from 60-30 :(I would like a way to limit the lower fps not the highest fps though lol
November 17, 200421 yr use the framerate counter in FRAPS instead of the in-game counter. The FS9 framecounter seems ridiculously sensitive to me.
November 18, 200421 yr becuase it seems to jump up and down so radically no matter what you do. :) I've found in the past that the constantly cycling framerates reported by the built in counter rarely coincide with noticeable stuttering in the sim. I have at various times had stutters crop up and have always been able to resolve them in one way or another, but even once they are eliminated I still get the cycling fps readings with the built in counter even though the sim appears to be running silky smooth. Fraps just seems to give a bit more stable reading (and its a very accurate utility too - I use it constantly with other games and its measurements always match up with the built in counters.) I still get some up and down - just not quite as all over the place. And when there is actually a visible drop in fps its indicated in the fraps count too.
November 19, 200421 yr Try setting your maximum framerates to 25 in the FS9 display/hardware settings and see if that smoothes things out. Some systems seem to run better with fps set to unlimited... mine happens to run better with fps locked... No guarantee, but worth a try.It may also depend on the complexity of the aircraft, as well as the scenery.. Bert
November 19, 200421 yr BTW..25 may seem extreme but it should suffice for a test... 30 may be closer to what you want on an ongoing basis :-) Bert
