February 2, 200521 yr I have a Radeon 9800 pro and today it was automaticly updated since I got the card. In the 3D options sectoin there is now something called "Temporal Anti-Aliasing" does anyone know what that means? What does this option do for FS2004? Thanks.
February 2, 200521 yr Author Never mind I figured it out, "Temporal Anti-Aliasing" is just the option to turn on and off the Anti-Aliasing option of the card. The option is just worded different now.
February 2, 200521 yr Temporal Anti Aliasing is separate from regular Anti Aliasing, it doesn't do anything for FS so just leave it disabled.
February 3, 200521 yr Author >Temporal Anti Aliasing is separate from regular Anti>Aliasing, it doesn't do anything for FS so just leave it>disabled. Thanks :-) I had that option disabled and there was jagged edges on my planes and scenery. When I put that option on everything was smooth again.
February 3, 200521 yr Wow, I've been trying for a week to get my Radeon Pro 9800 All in Wonder card to work in FS2004. Right after I installed XP service pack 2, whenever I load FS2004 it crashes and I have to reboot. I uninstalled SP2,and now it won't even work with SP1 anymore. I finally gave up and put an old nvidia card back in, and FS2004 works again. Did you have any problems with the radeon whwn you installed it?>I have a Radeon 9800 pro and today it was automaticly updated>since I got the card. February 3, 200521 yr Author I didn't install my card, a friend of mine did. I have no idea what Im doing when it comes to that stuff. :-lol
February 4, 200521 yr Hi,Problems after SP2? Yes, if you don't prevent XP from using it's own drivers, you will have problems. Here is what you could do:Download latest ATI drivers, put the self-extracting EXE where you can find it.Now change the video driver to standard VGA, and DO NOT LET XP INSTALL NEW DRIVERS, even if it recognizes the card.Install the Radeon PRO. Agagin, when the system comes up, DO NOT LET XP SEARCH FOR DRIVERS. Just settle for VGA.Now run the ATI self-extracting package, and you should be fine. The important part is to keep the VGA drivers, even if the 'New Hardware' wizard wants you to install something else.Apart from the video drivers, you could also have a problem with chipset and audio drivers (I did), where XP just installed its own, inferior drivers.HTH & BRGDSSven Sorensen, EKCH

February 5, 200521 yr Hi Sven,I've got a similar Card to fsjunkey; my problem was that after a short time running Fs9 my monitor would become 'scrambled' (see attached .jpg) - I've also reverted to my nvidia Ti4200 Card. I'd like to give the ATI Card another try, using your solution. Could you tell me which set of Drivers you would use; there are so many I may have picked on the wrong ones. Should I re-install from the CD first?fsjunkey - sorry to 'hijack' your thread, desparate times need desparate measures :)KenSomerset, England
