April 20, 200521 yr Hello!Well, after using my recently purchased AudioFX vibration headsets for a couple of weeks now, I have to say that I am very impressed! These headsets really add to the flight sim experieince by providing engine vibrations through the headsets. This makes you feel like you are really in the aircraft.I was a little bit sceptical before I bought the headsets due to some posts that wern't favorable to these types of hardware products, but after reading many favorable reviews about the eDimensional ones, I decided to give them a try. The headsets cost $50, not much more than a couple of add-ons, so I figured it was worth the risk.Needless to say, I am very pleased with how well the headsets sound and how comfortable they are. But they really shine by producing virbrations when lower tones from the aircraft are being generated.I have used 5.1 surround speakers for my flight simming for many years, but now I will never fly without my headsets again! They really add to the flight sim expereince. The attached mic also works great! Very sensative.I didn't want to "advertise" neccesarily for the headsets, but I have had such a positive experience using them, I thought I would let you all know! You can find out more about the headsets at the eDimensional website. They advertise here at the AVSIM website about their voicebuddy product. I might give that a try since I like their headset.Happy Simming!Scott :-)ATP/CFII/DA20 Type Rated - Instructor Pilot - USAFA (KAFF), Colorado Springs, CO & at KCOSAOPA #00956593, since 1987Background in Corporate, Airline, and General AviationGamming System Specs: (Built this one myself)AMD Athlon-64 3000+ Gigabyte K8NS nForce3-250 Chipset 8x AGP Main Board 1GB DDR400 PC3200 Memory 160GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive 16x DVD-ROM Audigy 2ZS Gammer Sound Card5.1 Channel Surround Sound Speakers256MB GeForce-5700 8X AGP Video Dual 17" LCD and CRT monitorsCotytech Gaming CaseCH Products Yoke, Rudder Pedals, Throttle QuadrantSaitek Cyborg Gold Joystic for Helo's & Stick equipped aircrafteDimensional AudioFX force feedback vibration headsets & micWindows XP Pro SP2Home Network for using the Instructor StationFS9 Sliders maxed with other settings at their best quality positions.
October 11, 200520 yr I appreciate you posting. I'm interested in these but my concern is how long they will hold up. I've read mostly positive reviews but some say the headphones are uncomfortable or begin to rattle.Anyways, I'm glad you are enjoying them and I might give them a try.Randall
October 12, 200520 yr Hi Randall.Well, I have been using my headsets for many months now and they work as great as the first day that I bought them. The eDimensional headsets really add to the simulation of flying. After a couple of minutes with the headsets on, I really begin to feel that I am in the actual cockpit.Being a real-life pilot, this is important. The headsets are very comfortable and I have no problem wearing them for long periods of time. They are no worse than wearing aviation headsets (I use David Clark in the real airplanes that I fly). The headsets are very light and the padding is good. The microphone is also one of the best that I have come accross for voice recognition.I use Aerosoft's ATC simulator with 99% accuracy when using my headsets for voice recognition. As far as a rattle, this has not happened in my case. The headsets are holding up very well. So, I have no problem recomending the eDimensional headsets. I love mine! I don't know about the other brands out there, but I am extreamely happy with the eDimensional ones!Happy Simming :-)Scott
July 23, 200718 yr There is quite a time span to this post but let's hope it is still current......I just got the eDim Forcefeed headset, but am not to sure about it being better that the 6 skr set-up, but am wondering if there is a way to connect both at same time?? Another question, there is talk about having a Teamspeak program installed.....(what is this??) What is the Aerosoft ATC program, is that what is needed to talk with ATC??..........thanks for the info, seems like it is hard to get any info on these headsets

July 26, 200718 yr Thanks for this update, I was this one when buying the earlier version, but went for the cheaper one, and know the downside of that.........guess I will get the newer one and tr;y a headset again, if that fails, go back to the surround speakers as before, thanks for all this heads-up!!
August 16, 200718 yr I bought those headsets after reading the AVSim review. I deeply regret what I did. I will try to explain.I bought some months ago a pair of Medusa 5.1 headsets (I
August 16, 200718 yr HiThanks for the review, however I would like to know whether it is the new (http://edimensional.com/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=122) or the old (http://edimensional.com/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=30) model you are using.Regards, Poul
August 18, 200718 yr I had the older ones............thanks for the comments, where do you get the best price on the Medusa(?), and can you explain how to set up so I can use headsets AND speakers!, that sounds like the way to go.......PS, I only use sound for FS9 and later FSX when DX10 comes out, and only have the on-board MB as of now.............regards, RRL
August 18, 200718 yr I forgot to mention in the last post that I went back to the speakers, much better for me, the eDim headsets are way too heavy and hot, so gave them up, but this thought may apply to all headsets, so not trying to badmouth or say it is only eDim stuff!! (I will putting them on eBay soon if anyone interested)......RRL
