Whats a good Trim wheel for Flight Sim.

Featured Replies

OK, We have the CH yoke, the CH Pedals and the CH Throttles.I think.. its time they came out with a Ch Trim wheel and a Gear up/Down handle and a flaps handle.I am looking at the Go flight's Trim wheel setup. 1st off, I read, the wheel is indented (notches)..which is not real.. second...its small. Can anyone who owns a GoFlight comfirn the Size of the wheel (I mean the height of the wheel that you see, which would give the diameter).I really would like to have the size a of a real Cessna wheel or atleast the Piper trim wheel (which is a little smaller). Now why can't the Go Flight use the real looking Gear up/Down which almost all the Flit sim manufactuers use..which is the real thing. You pull out and then push up or down. Instead of that silly big ugly blob wooden handle looking thing that go Flight uses? The CH yoke has a 1 & 1/2 inch wheel... so if a dedicated Trim wheel set up comes up with a 2-3 inch wheel..its silly. I think.. a 4 inch wheel is the minimum that would value.any ideas?Manny

The Cessna 172s seems to have the biggest wheel that I have seen. Its almost 8 inches in diameter. (I am going from memory)...the Pipers I have flown (Arrow and Seminole twin) is probably closer to 6 inches. As far as the gear handle.. No. Its not going to cost any more than maybe $5.Look at the white gear handle on this throttle.http://www.avsim.com/pages/0801/pfc/pfc_th...le_review.shtmlthats the real thing. I want to buy the Go flight. Except.. I want the gear handle like the real thing, and the trim wheel to be no less than 5-6 inches. Yes..it would make the unit a little bigger... So? It also has indents (I was told)..which is not true in the real world.I don't know the size of the Go Flight wheel. The Ch throttle already has a 1.5 inch wheel. So for Go flight to add value..it cannot be 2-3 inches. IMO.
