June 30, 200520 yr I have already tried all possible combinations.Last was, I put in my old Ti4200 again after a complete cleanup of the drivers. While the drivers installed ok and system started normally, when I tried to run Call Of Duty (for test), the screen was horribly updating like software rendering... stutters, no shadows, no AA, nothing. The card should be powerfull enough along with the rest of the system to give me smooth play at 1024x768. But that was not the case. So, now I'm sure that the MB is faulty at the AGP slot or something, since there is no hardware acceleration. The DirectX test do pass though! What an ackward situation!I'm taking it to the service for a replacement. Actually I'll carry the whole PC with me so that they can see the problem.I'll let you know of the outcome. Thanks for all your help.George DorkofikisAthens, Greecehttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.pnghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/betaimg.jpg
June 30, 200520 yr After all the tests I'm 100% :+ sure it's the motherboard. Eager to hear the end result...
July 2, 200520 yr Are you using a monitor with DVI inputs? Unplug your monitor when you are booting up windows until you see your hard drive light come back up signifying that its booting up and then plug it back into the DVI port again. HTH,Mike T.
July 4, 200520 yr Just to update you so you don't do the same mistakes I did.The bottomline: The Gigabyte K8NS Ultra 939 was NOT compatible with my ASUS A9600 Radeon9600XT VGA!!!I returned the Gigabyte Motherboard and took the MSI K8N NEO2 Platinum instead (same chipset nForce3 Ultra) and my VGA seems to be working fine with it! I was able to install the latest ATI drivers and no problems on the reboot.Since windows are completely messed up with all the driver swaps and all the tests, I will clean format again, install drivers as appropriate, Service packs etc. Hopefully the last time I will have to do this...Thanks for your help and tips.George DorkofikisAthens, Greecehttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.pnghttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/betaimg.jpg
July 4, 200520 yr Glad you got it solved in the end. I do still wonder why your 'old' NVIDIA 4200 also had problems in 3D mode... Anyhow, go fly!
