October 7, 200520 yr Hello everyone.I will start with my system specs, just bought this computer and installed flightsim last night, every thing works great but i cant see the aircraft that i pick in the preview screen on the create flight screen, it is just black.I have a Intel 3.6 ghz, 1gb ram, Nvidia 7800GTx card with 78.01 drivers, sound blaster 2 ZS and Dell 24 inch flat pannel, never had this problem with my old system. Thanks in advanceBarry CuffP.S Anyone thinking of getting the Dell 24 inch LCD it is just great.
October 7, 200520 yr It's the drivers!Wait for future drivers. For now lower the AA to 4AA. When set at 8AA you will not be able to see the aircraft in the main menu, but the game looks and runs beautifully. If you don't mind the black screen, don't worry about it. FS 2004 runs fine.Jose MSFS
October 7, 200520 yr Jose, thanks for the reply, If it is a common problem I will just leave it as the sim runs just fine and looks great.ThanksBarry
October 7, 200520 yr Hello,It may run well but this is additional problem I get with anything above 71.89 with my 6800 Ultra.I wish Nvidia would fix this asap with future releases. Bera
October 8, 200520 yr Hi Barry,I have the same issues and I'm a little annoyed about it. I also get black lines during flight when using FSPassengers mini display, my weather radar or any other pop-up screen.Apparently older drivers don't have that issue but as I have a 7800GT I don't want to use drivers older then the card as those will probably be hold back the NV70.As to the screen: I totally agree: best buy I made in a very long time :)Regards,AlexP.S.: Has anyone actually contacted NVIDIA support on this issue?
October 9, 200520 yr We all should notify Nvidia. I think that there are 3 major problems:1: The black screen you speak of (when above 4aa)2: The annoying shimmering caused by anything less than 8s and,3. The flickering of the screen caused by anything less than 8ssetting.If it wasn't for the back screen, it would be perfect. The screen flickering is a reminder of the early days of the 9800pro and fs2002. These are issues that should be addressed ASAP. The sim community spends their hard earned dollars for top of the line hardware. Without the right drivers, this card is...... Draw your own conclusions.I'm now looking at buying one more XFX 7800gtx (for SLI Config) so that I can get even more perfomance at high settings. It's hard for me to believe that FS2004 does not take advantage of SLI, especially at high settings.Jose OteroAMD FX 57A8N SLI Premium1 gig RAM2 Raptors in RAID OXFX 7800 GTXAudigy SoundGo FlightAETI YOKECirrus Pedals MSFS
