  1. Problem solved - apparently newest drivers were the root cause. 190.38 drivers installed and now performance is as expected!

Hi!I did a small system upgrade and got the Nvidia GTS 250 card to replace Ati Radeon 4670.Now everything runs exactly as I expected as long as I do the following.- Load the Pmdg M11 at a dense airport in full screen mode all setting maxed with single monitor, FPS stable at 50 (locked)- Go to windoved mode and move overhead panel into monitor 2 and back to fullscreen mode again, FPS between 15-20 regardless of the locationI have the latest Nvidia driver and Nhancer configured as should. System specs are:Asus P5QIntel core 2 E8400ASUS GTS250 DK PCIE 512MB DVI/VGA/HDMI2*1 Mbit RAMWindows Xp (SP3) 32-bitAs said system is stable, when benchmarking results are on the numbers. FS never crashes.So problem is only when trying to run 2 displays in full screen mode - any ideas what might be wrong? \\ Perttu

Should run FS9 very well.I did similar upgrade (xp32, seamless fs9 performance) few months back and my selection was:Asus P5QIntel Core 2 E5200ATI Radeon HD 4670, 512 MB2*1 Gig PC2-6400 MushkinE5200 is now overclocked to 3,32 mhz and system is rock solid. Last week to tackle slight noise issue I did replace Intel stardard cooler with Noctua NH-U12P cooler. All in all very cost efficient package and the deliverable is simply outstanding. \\ Perttu
  7. Hello,I did budget upgrade to run FS9 for few more years. Very happy with new setup and everything works very well.However there is a slight problem with my 2nd display. I do want to use Ati Adaptive AA since it makes a world of difference - when used there are no significant blurries in most sceneries I use. Now when I move eg PMDG overhead panel to the second display and go back to full screen mode overhead panel is severely blurred while cockpit remains sharp and crisp. I had this same problem (with the entire panel) with single display on the new system but that was cured by adding panelastexture=0. Is there a tweak to address this problem or do I have to choose between blurry sceneries or blurry overhead panel on second display.All help highly appreciated! \\ PerttuBtw. Hi,I did recently budget upgrade to run XP + FS9 for additional 2-3 years.My system is P5Q, E5200 dual core, Ati Radeon 4670, 2*1 gig mushkin memory, XP sp3, Avast antivirus+XP firewall.Everything is newbuilt, updated and really works like a charm.Regarding FS plan is not to install any unneeded addons to maximise stability. I use LDS, PMDG, F1 ATR, FE, GE, FSmeteo, nothing 'exotic' really.However in some cases, typically on approach 10-20 NM (several locations, could be dense clouds over Atlantic as well) out, my sound goes really crazy, becomes totally incomprehensive (just bzzzzzzzzzzz...) and takes few secs to restore. In a worst case this may result black screen without any error messages. Frame rates however remain constant. I use onboard (Realtek) sound, updated. I think it may be a confict between Ati (CCC 8.12) and onboard sound since this occurs when a lot of textures are loaded. I did lower texture_bandwidth_mult from 400 to 70 and that seems to help a bit, no CTD:s anymore. I have also tried to crash my system with Soundcheck but it remains very stable regardless what I do. Anyone able to help - I am thinking putting soundcard in to solve this, since I cannot figure out how to fix it...BR \\ Perttu
  9. Hello,I did upgrade my PC to do 28fps in all reasonable scenarios everything maxed out. Target was to spend as little as possible.My set up is Asus P5Q, Intel core 2 duo E5200, 2*1Gig DDR800 from Mushkin, 500 Gig Samsung T-166 Spinpoint HD and MSI Ati Radeon HD4670 512MB. Everything works like a charm, everything is fresh install and all drivers updated.Only problem is with ATI, I do have CCC v8.11 and yes fps is great (locked 28) but image quality is not as good as with my previous Nvidia 6800 GT. I have tried several tweaks and made some progress but still some awful looking textures around.What are the optimal settings for ATI card - with Nhancer things used to be really easy!Thanks for your advise... \\ Perttu
  10. Hello,I have suffered few CTD's (when using RC) pointing as atc.dll the cause. Obviously very annoying especially when it happens during approach. I think I have figured out one cause for this. If (departure) atis frequency will be retuned at some point of flight a black screen will occur and cause for CTD is shown atc.dll.Having flown from RKSI to VHHH I noticed both airports have same frequency for Atis and when VHHH atis was tuned CTD always occured. Then I changed VHHH atis frequency and no problem.Same thing with KMIA-EDDF - Kmia atis is the same as EDDF approach frequency. When handed over to approach CTD occurs.Anyone else having this problem? Is there other solutions than cross checking all frequencies in controller info? Perttu
  11. Hi Rob,Thanks for the reply. Indeed with -30 flex she accelerates ok and initial climb around 20 deg. So close enough for me...What is interesting with -50 flex she does not accelarate beyond 100 knts. That is with only difference of 4-5% in N1 value 88->93...Best Rgs Perttu
  12. Hello,I did some flights with A330 and noticed this issue both with 200 and 300 series. Once flex takeoff eg -50 my ac does not accelarate after 80 - 100 knts even at very light loads (EHAM-EGLL). If toga used it seems to have way too much power and shoots off like a rocket (>25 deg pitch angle excess of 5000 ft/min) right after rotation - not very realistic. Funny enough accelation to 80knt's seems to be roughly the same.I am using latest B. Scott improved fde - Once this problem was noticed I did install the flight model again as per intructions.Anyone else having same issue? Am I missing something? Perttu

  15. Hello PSS,You may recall this problem I had. I do have the boxed edition.Now over holidays decided to give it a last go. I did change rudder effectiveness (aircraft.cfg) from 1.0 to 1.5.Result; She will stay on runways with 25 knt x-wind component:-beerchug . And feels also similar to LR on landing.Also adjusted same key with A330/340 (with B Scott's FDE) from 1 to 2 and they handle now also much better with significant X-wind.I thought sharing this info since others may have similar problems.Best Rgs Perttu
  16. John,Ok, LR/LRF are ok ER not. Huge difference there so I can only assume to have local problem (mess that is!!) that needs to be addressed. I shall continue this with JF.Now this package is not too expensive so if I throw away JF and download PSS is my problem fixed?What I mean is my current updated (lets assume I have done everything as supposed while updating) package precisely the same as PSS version? To further clarify I am interested the package itself so installers etc can be excluded. If PSS download would be easy solution -> fine with me since I would rather be flying than posting here.I would highly appreciate clear and definite reply and we can close this discussion.And do not get me wrong I highly appreciate all efforts to help.   17. Hi John,Thanks for another post.I think my techniques are correct, I was insprired to try flightsimming already FS98 days after several chances to fly with real things on jumpseat. And yes sometimes it was windy too. Since then I have clocked with different FS's 3-5 kh all together and most of that with complex add ons. Obviously FS2004 has made a world of difference here. Even my pilot friends who fly airliners are amazed of the realism level. Not so much regarding FDE's but system modelling. While simming there is not more fun then bringing LDS 763 or PMDG 744 thru nasty weather into challenging landing where these very techniques are required. Now I was looking to do same with PSS 777. LR I can ER not. I trust you have done testing and I suspect we are not talking about same thing here. You mentioned earlier that:**Perttu,Thank you for these details.
