October 16, 200520 yr I would like to use a wide rectangular 32" monitor to run FS9: Acer or Samsung. But, having tried one, I find that the panel gauges are distorted so that instead of being round they appear eliptical. My question is whether it is possible to display FS9 on these relatively new monitors without distortion. Is there a fix now and, if not, is there any indication that Microsoft intends to release one or to make the next edition of the simulator compatible with wide monitors?Peter Lowry.
October 23, 200520 yr hi Peterso you have a 32" monitor? Wow! love to see a screenshot of that, i was looking at one here http://www.computeralliance.com.au/parts.aspx?qryPart=5540it must be an amazing sensation to see FS on such a huge screen!?? I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
October 25, 200520 yr No. There is no fix nor is there a problem. The panel is made in 2D at a res of 1024x768. Therefore the distortion. There are three ways I can think of to handle that.1. Use the VC. The VC is 3D and therefore no distortion. That is a good approach as the current VCs are almost as good as the 2D panels.2. Get FS Panel studio and do your own panel in a widescreen res.3. Hook up a 2nd monitor (4:3) and use it for the panel.Hope that helps.Alex
