March 25, 200620 yr Hello everyone,How are all of you setting up your system with these large LCD monitors running 1600x1200 and 1920x1440, 4:3, Widescreen, etc? I have tried a 21" 4:3 LCD and at the native res of (1600x1200) which looked best, the Windows desktop fonts were just too small. At 1200x1024 it just looked blurry. Also, at 1600x1200, framerates were poor.Thanks,DaveP4 2.66 w/1 gig RAMATI 9800 proSony 21" CRT running at 1280x1024
March 25, 200620 yr I've got a 20.1" Samsung flat panel with a 1600x1200 native resolution, and I love it. I also have a pretty high end system with a PCI-e x800xt 256MB and a RAID0 array. Font sizes aren't an issue for me, and overall it looks really good. You HAVE to use DVI and keep things at native resolution or just isn't worth the trouble. You will take a frame rate hit though, and you will need to cut down on antialiasing and anisotropic filtering. I'm running 2x AA 8xAF @ 1600x1200x32. I went from running everything full tilt and never caring about FPS with my old CRT at 1280x960, to tweaking and adjusting just to keep things at 25fps with no blurries. Your card is a little old and may not make the transition well, so that is something to consider.
